FOUNDATIONAL SCRIPTURES: Hebrews 10:23 & Isaiah 54:13
Highlights:
We are living in a tumultuous time with the spread of Covid-19 running rapid around the world, and many other ills in society that are at an apex. As born-again parents of the Lord Almighty, we must not panic, but forever remain steadfast, in prayer, but also in expecting the promises of God to come to pass for our lives, and especially our children.
Many Christian parents are unware of the specifics of our New Covenant that we have with God through Jesus Christ. In this New Covenant, God has His part to fulfill, and every born again Christian also has their part. Most of the central tenants of the New Covenant are found in Hebrews 10:12-25. One of the amazing responsibilities that God has designated for Himself is to put His laws in our hearts and minds, and write them there. And, to never remember our sins and iniquities—past, present, and future. (Hebrews 10:16-17)
One of our responsibilities in the New Covenant, is found at verse 23. It is a very important duty! We are to hold fast to the confession of our faith in the promises of God without wavering, as God is faithful to bring them into physcial manifestation. More Specifically, as Christians, we are tasked with searching out the promises of God in the Bible. When we find one, we should rejoice exceedingly because God’s promises to us are exceedingly great and precious. (Psalm 37:4 & II Peter 1:4). Then we should sow the scriptures in our hearts where the kingdom of God resides. Then by faith speak the promise of God, from our hearts and mouths. We must remain steadfast and patient, and the promise will come to pass, as our actions correspond to the promise God has made to us.
God made an everlasting promise to our children found at Isaiah 53:14. The scripture declares that, “All of our children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be their peace.” This promise is as sure as the promise God made unto Noah after the great flood, in which, God promised never to destroy the earth again by water. (Isaiah 54:9-10) God also promised Noah, that as long as the earth remained, there would be a time for planting and reaping, temperature and seasonal changes, and day and night without ceasing. (Genesis 8:22).
So parents, start now sowing this promise into your heart. Speak the promise aloud right now, saying, “All my children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be their peace.” The word peace in the Hebrew is “shalom”, meaning complete or whole in restoration in spirit, mind, body, socially, and financially.
God is going to use the parents to teach the children about Himself. (Proverbs 22:6 & Ephesians 1:4) In particular, as the head of the home, it is the fathers’ responsibility to teach his children about Jesus Christ and the things of God. However, in so many homes today, there is no presence of a godly man, so the responsibility falls to mothers.
I want to share with all Christian parents these 10 steps for establishing the standard of holiness in your homes. These 10 steps should be taught diligently to your children. In essence, holiness is having one mind with God. When we think like God, we will see, talk, and act like God at home and everywhere you and your children interact with people. God’s Love will be on display, and result in your children walking in Great Peace!
TEN THINGS TO DO TO ESTABLISH THE STANDARD OF HOLINESS IN YOUR HOME
