Good morning, and Praise the Lord Saints. I hope you are enjoying these sermons on developing and moving in God’s Love in ways you probably have never even thought about or dared to think that you could operate in God’s Love.
I am reminded of the scripture in Matthew 17, where this lunatic man was brought to the disciples to be healed, and they were not able to heal him. Then, the father took his son to Jesus and He healed him. The disciples asked Jesus why they couldn’t heal him? Matt. 17:20-21 says: “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. However, this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
I give these disciples credit for at least investigating why they couldn’t heal him. Because of your unbelief was a full and complete answer. This is still the reason for failure to cast out demons and for unanswered prayers of every kind. God promises answers to all alike on condition one is in Christ and doubts not.
“If ye have faith.” It will be done – whatever you say, but if you do not have faith, it will not be done.
Faith, pure and unmixed with doubt as a grain of mustard seed, can even move a literal mountain.
What is Faith?
The Greek word for faith is pisteuo. Faith must contain all of the 10 following components:
- To be persuaded of (Rom 4:17-22; 8:38-39) 2 Tim. 1:12= “Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.”
- Place confidence in (Eph. 3:12; Heb. 3:6, 12-14; 10:35; 1 Jn. 3:21; 5:14) Phil. 1:6= “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
- The substance or conviction of things hoped for, the assurance of things not seen (Heb. 10:19-38; 11:1, 6; Rom. 4:17) Rom. 8:24 = “For we are saved by hope but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?”
- Absolute dependence upon and reliance in the Word of God and of Christ (Matt. 15:28; Rom. 10:17; Heb. 11:1-12:3) Mt. 8:8-10 = “The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me; and I say to this man Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.”
Full surrender, yieldedness, and obedience to all known truth (Rom. 1:5; 16:26; 6:11-23; Jas. 2:14-26; Heb. 11:6) 2 Cor. 10:4-7 = (“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds, Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s even so are we Christ’s.” - Trust wholly and unreservedly in the faithfulness of God (Mt. 6:25-34; 12:21; Lk 12:28-31; Eph. 1:13; 6:17; 1 Cor. 10:13) 1 Tim. 4:11= “But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.”
- Give one’s self over to a new way of life (Rom. 1:17; 2 Cor. 10:4-7; Gal. 5:16-26; Col. 3:5-10; Heb. 12:1-15; Tit. 2:11-14; 1 Jn. 1:7; 5:1-5, 18) 1 Jn. 3:8-10 = “He that committeth sin is of the devil: for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
- The attribute of God and restored faculty of man whereby both can bring into existence things that are unseen (Gal. 5:22; Mt. 17:20, 21: 22; Mk. 9:23; 11:22-24; Lk. 17:6; Heb. 11) Rom. 4:17 = “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations) before him whom he believed even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”
- The whole body of revealed truth (Lk. 18:8; Jude 3; 1 Tim. 4:1, 6; 6:10; 2 Tim. 3:16-17) Rom. 10:17 = “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”
- Joyful faith in, and acceptance of Christ as the substitute for sin and our Savior whereby one receives salvation (Mk. 16:16; Acts 4:12; 10:43; Rom. 1:16; 3:24-31) Eph. 2:8-9 = “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” access into grace (Rom. 5:2) = “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. fulfillment of the promises (Heb. 6:12) = “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” the Holy Spirit (Gal. 3:14) = “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles, through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” righteousness (Rom. 4:9; 30, 32: 10:6) Phil. 3:9 = “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:” sonship Gal. 3:26 = “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” healing (Jas. 5:14-16) 1 Pet. 2:24 = Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” eternal life (Jn. 3:15-18, 5:24; 6:47) Jn. 3:36 = “He that believeth on the Son hath (everlasting life:) and he that believeth not; the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. and answers to every prayer (Mt. 7:7-11; 21:21; Mk. 11:22-24; Lk 18:1-8; Jn. 14:12-15; 16) Jn. 15:7 = “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
The word “believeth” denotes the act and process of faith and is the present tense of “pistis,” faith, and must be continued in to get its benefits (Acts 14:22; 1 Tim. 2:15; 3:9; 6:12; 2 Tim. 3:8; 4:7; Tit. 1:13; Heb. 10:23-38; 2 Pet. 1:5-10) Col. 2:5-7 = “For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.”
In John 5:19, Jesus tells us how he is able to do miracles: “Then answered Jesus and said unto them. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”
Then, Jesus tells us in Ephesians 5:1-2 what we should do: “Be ye followers of God, as dear children; [Greek= mimetes, imitators: mimic the gait, speech, accent, and manner of life of another. It means here to imitate God as children do their parents – imitate His acts, words, nature, ways, grace and Spirit.] And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.”
Faith principles are always the same: believe in your heart and speak with your mouth.
Since we are to imitate Jesus, let’s see a few examples of what He did or told us to do.
- (Mark 11:12-14, 20-21) “And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find anything thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.” [Fig trees were of two varieties: the early fig (Isa. 28:4) Jer. 24:2 = “One basket had very good figs, even like the figs that are first ripe: and the other basket had very naughty figs, which could not be eaten, they were so bad.” and the late fig (Jer. 29:17) Jer. 8:13 = “I will surely consume them, saith the Lord: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them.” Figs appear before or with the leaves, so the leaves indicated that the tree must have figs, even though the time of figs to be fully ripe was not yet come.] “And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter forever. And his disciples heard it.” [The tree must have said something to Jesus because it says that Jesus answered it!] “And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.”
- In Mark 11:22-25, “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God, For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore, I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive; if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” [Forgiveness of man is the condition here of forgiveness by God.]
- [Faith works by two things; your belief in your heart and your words spoken from your mouth.] 2 Cor. 4:13 = “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;”
Let God perfect you in Love—spirit, soul and body.
You are a three-part being. You are a spirit. You have a soul: a mind, will and emotions. You live in a body.
In Rom. 7:18, 21 says: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. [I have a will but it is so overpowered by the lusts of sin that I am helpless. My passion is stronger than my reason. My will, reason, understanding, and my conscience are on God’s side and consent to His will and law, but my slave-master will not consent for me to serve God or His law.]
In Romans 8:1-39, it spells out the 34 blessings or perfections that God will perform for those who are in Christ.
- Redemption (1 Cor. 1:30) Rom. 3:24 = “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
- Freedom from condemnation– Rom. 8:1 = “There is therefore now no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
- Spirit of life—Rom. 8:2 = For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
- Love of God (1 Tim. 1:14) — Rom. 8:39 = “Nor height, nor depth, not any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- Truth Rom. 9:1 = “I Say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost.”
- Unity (Gal. 3:28)– Rom. 12:15 = “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.”
- Faith (1 Tim. 3:13) — Acts 24:24 = “And after certain days, when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, which was a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ.”
- Sanctification (1 Cor. 1:2)—1 Cor. 1:30 = “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption:”
- Wisdom (1 Cor. 1:30) – I Cor. 4:10 = “We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ: we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honorable but we are despised.
- Righteousness (1 Cor. 1:30) = Same as #8 above.
- Begetting (1 Cor. 4:15) = “For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.”
- Hope (Rom. 8:24-25) = “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”
Security in death (1 Cor.15:20-22) = “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” - Resurrection (1 Cor. 15) 1Th. 4:13-18: “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
- Joy (Rom. 15:13) = “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that ye may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
- Establishment in God (2 Cor. 1:21) = “Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God:”
- Triumph (2 Cor. 2:14) = “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place.”
- Uncorrupt Word (2 Cor. 2:17) = “For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.”
- Law Abolished (2 Cor. 3:6-15) = “Who also hath made us able ministers of the New Testament not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of death written and engraven in stones, was glorious so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance: which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away was glorious much more that which remaineth is glorious. Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not steadfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the Old Testament; which veil is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart.”
- New Creation (2 Cor. 5:17-18) = “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.”
- Simplicity (2 Cor. 11:3) = “But I fear, lest by any means as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
- Liberty (Gal. 2:4) = “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:”
- All spiritual blessings (Eph. 1:3) = “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
- Power (Eph. 1:19) = “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,”
- Heavenly places (Eph. 2:6) = “And hath raised us up together; and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”
- Nearness to God (Eph. 2:13) = “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.”
- Eternal purpose (Eph. 3:11) = “According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- Self-humbling (Phil. 2:8) = “And being found in fashion as a man he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
High calling (Phil. 3:14) = “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” - Perfection (Col. 1:28) = “Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:”
- Eternal life (1 Tim. 1:16) = “Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.”
- Grace (Rom.5:17) = “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”
Salvation (2 Tim. 2:10) = “Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.” - Preservation (Jude 1) = “Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ and called:”
1 Thessalonians 5:23 says: “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” There should be no doubt in your mind after reading everything that I have said including the 34 things listed above that God has placed and perfected everything in your born-again spirit. He wants you whole not only in your spirit, but in your soul and body, as well, so that you can be conformed to the image of His Son which is His main goal!
Love went to the cross for everyone, the saved and unsaved. It is vital for a person to be born again, because that is the gateway to God’s Love.
All of God’s gifts operate by Love and faith and there is no exception. Love fueling mountain moving faith is a “Heart to Mouth Connection” along with your “Love walk.”
You should be receiving answers to your prayers, if you are not. Then, check your “Heart to Mouth Connection.” Are you really believing (faith) in your heart and speaking? If you are, then check your Love walk. Are you really obeying the following: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind: and thy neighbor as thyself?” Or, are you holding ought or unforgiveness toward someone or more than one person? Remember God cannot forgive you, if you do not forgive others.
Love Fueling Mountain Moving Faith is too important in your life and the lives of others to forfeit it by not Walking in Love and/or not using the Heart to Mouth Connection. You are missing doing something great in life for God by not using the above methods that He advocates. God would love for you to make a decision —that I will Walk in Love and use the Heart to Mouth Connection for God starting today. Amen and Amen, So, let it be done!
