Sermon Part 2: "There Are Multitudes of Miracles Inside You Waiting To Happen For Someone Else!"
Introduction
Good Morning and Praise the Lord Saints.
I tell you, I am still fired up from the New Year’s Day Sermon Series opener. As I preached to you, I believe that 2023 will be the year of miracles springing up all over the United States. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, America witnessed the miracle of Damar Hamlin, the 24-year-old Buffalo Bills football player who collapsed with heart failure. America offered up prayers, and God rendered Help, such that his medical team called his recovery “remarkable.”
I believe in 2023 and beyond, God is strategically placing and planting born-again Christians (including you and me) all over America in the pathway of people who are in the midst of a crisis. To let hurting people know that “Help” is Just One Prayer Away. The Anointing—the power of the Holy Ghost—is going to enable us to take a person’s crisis into our hands—crack, crumble, and crush it—and blow what remains away. And then, we will tell the person we prayed for to receive “Peace”—the Peace of Christ Jesus! Glory be to God! Now that’s what I call “Holy Ghost Boldness!” We need more Holy Ghost boldness in our Churches today!
For today’s Sermon and rest of the Series, I want to speak directly to born-again Christians, as God has a very special Word for you. Please receive the engrafted Word of God with meekness, which is able to prosper your souls. (James 1:21) Now, this is what I hear God saying to you:
"There Are Multitudes of Miracles Inside You Waiting To Happen For Someone Else!"
Personalize this truth and say it with me:
“I Have Multitudes of Miracles Inside Me Waiting To Happen For Someone Else.” (God saved you to use you for His glory—and to move from glory to glory. II Cor. 3:18)
Now, let’s define “Miracles:”
Miracles are the expression of the power, strength, or force of God to intervene in the affairs of Mankind, with extraordinary events, that bring forth the goodness of God from Heaven’s supply to Mankind and the earth, and glorify only God the Father in their dynamic working.
In other words, when a miracle happens you know God did the good deed, because there is no other viable explanation for the event that occurred.
Saints of God when you think of miracles, you must first stop and look at yourself—because you are a “Miracle.” Come on and say it with me, “I am a Miracle!” The definition I just gave you for miracles perfectly describes what you are. You are a miracle of God’s making.
Think about the miraculous work God did when He regenerated your heart (spirit, soul, and the mind of the soul) in Jesus Christ, the Anointed One and His Anointing. For you were once lost in sin and under the control of the god of this world, Satan. You were a child of the devil destined for death, hell, and the grave. (Eph. 2:1-3) But God, who is full of mercy, loved and gave to you His only begotten Son Jesus, who shed His blood and died on the cross for your sins.
Then, on the third-day, Jesus Christ rose from the dead with “All” Power and Authority having the keys to death, hell, and the grave. (Rev.1:18) He showed Himself alive with many infallible proofs for 40-days to above 500 eye-witnesses chosen before the foundations of the world, and again He came preaching of things pertaining to the Kingdom of God. Thereafter, on His last day on earth, Jesus gave instructions to the disciples regarding commencement of the Great Commission, and ascended on high—taking His seat at the right hand of God the Father. (Acts 1:1-3)
But, Jesus did not travel alone back to the Father. For in the Spirit, God gathered, quickened, and raised us all up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus in love and unity at the right hand of God. (Eph. 2:4-6)
Praise God, and when you heard the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ and received Jesus as Lord and Savior, you were born-again from above by God Almighty. Oh, I like the way the Amplified Bible describes our new birth in God in Christ. See John 1:13 Amplified Bible, it reads,
who were born, not of blood [natural conception], nor of the will of the flesh [physical impulse], nor of the will of man [that of a natural father], but of God [that is, a divine and supernatural birth—they are born of God—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].
Praise God, you are not born of the will of man. You were supernaturally born of God—spiritually transformed into the express likeness of Jesus Christ, and set apart for God’s use. You are a “new creation,” a species that never existed in the world before—far superior than even the first man Adam before his fall in the Garden of Eden, and all things have become new fresh and alive in your heart. (II Cor. 5:17) And, I say again—you are a “Miracle,” delivered from the kingdom of darkness, and translated in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. (Col.1:13)
Through Christ, you have been transformed from sinner to Saint, unholy to the holy, guilty to blameless, and unrighteous to righteous. And, nobody but Jesus Christ is responsible for your redemption. Somebody ought to shout with a voice of triumph and praise unto God!
The New Creature in Christ Is Ordained to Do Good Works from Eternity
Saints of God, you were recreated in Jesus Christ so you could do the works of God prepared before the world was formed. The Apostle Paul wrote at Eph. 2:10:
For we are God’s own handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
The good works of God are multitudes of miracles, signs, and wonders—the same works Jesus did and greater works, as the Lord promised all believers in Him would be able to accomplish on earth when He returned to the Father. (John 14:12) These good works, miracles, were ordered and prearranged by God before the earth was made and before Lucifer was created and his great disgraceful fall from heaven. (Is.14:12-16)
Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith, and given we are new creations in Christ, we look only to His example of living and Ministry to learn how we are also to live in this fallen world. (Heb.12:2-3) Summarizing the ministry of Jesus on earth, the Apostle Luke wrote the following at Acts 10:38:
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Jesus Christ was “Anointed” with the Holy Ghost and power went about doing good (multitudes of miracles). In less than four-years of public Ministry on earth, Jesus did so many miracles that the Apostle John wrote if they were all written in books, he surmised that the world could not contain them. (John 21:25) Jesus testified that the works (miracles) He did were all authored by what He heard and saw God the Father doing within Him. (John 5:19 & 12:49)
In other words, all of the miracles Jesus performed, He first saw them in his heart (spirit) as revealed by the Holy Ghost, and then He went and did them. These Miracles were from the Kingdom of God within Him and preordained for mankind to receive. These miracles brought forth good things to mankind, and healed all who were oppressed of the devil, as God was with Him. No person had to try and earn or pay for a miracle, have a certain social status in life, nor did they have to first repent of their sins and be baptized before receiving a miracle. No, no—the only requirement was that the person believe in Jesus, and that He was able to do the miracle needed, then the person received the favor from God! Believing in Jesus Christ qualifies every person for a God-intervention—a miracle!
Saints, just as God Anointed Jesus Christ, He has also anointed you with the Holy Ghost and power. Praise God everyone who believes in Jesus Christ, repents of their sins, and receives water baptism in the authority of Jesus name—receives the gift of the Holy Ghost! (Acts 2:38-39) Look closely at the words of Jesus Christ recorded at Acts 1:8.” Put your name right in the verse, and believe and go and do as commanded where you live and beyond!
“But ye (Your name) shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you (your name): and ye (Your name) shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
In this Scripture the word, "power" in the Greek is "dunamis" and conveys the primary meaning “miraculous power,” one able to do mighty and wonderful works. Saints of God, —You have received miracle working power from the Holy Ghost, and you shall be witnesses unto Jesus Christ in America and around the world!
Take a moment and look in your heart as the Holy Ghost has affirmed in you miracle working power. The Holy Ghost has also caused you to see yourself doing all manner mighty miracles, signs, and wonders! These Miracles placed in your heart belong to the Kingdom of God, which resides in the Holy Ghost, and they were pre-ordained for you to do before the world began. These mighty miracles are superior in knowledge, power, and wisdom to Satan and his works. (Rom. 14:17 & Luke 17:21)
There is no sickness, illness, demonic oppression, death nor any other type of bondage that your born-again spirit doesn't have a miracle for, to transform evil, into good! (I John 4:4) The miracles in your heart are "eternal," and therefore, not subject to time. Rather, the miracles were established in the Kingdom of God long before God instituted time in the earth. Genesis 1:14 marks when God established seasons, days, and years. But the Kingdom of God, which is of power (dunamis = miracles) was established long before the world was made. (I Cor. 4:20 & Matt. 25:34)
Moreover, the New Testament is chock-full of accounts, starting on the Day of Pentecost, in which the Apostles and lay Christians, being full of faith and the Holy Ghost and power, went about preaching the gospel and doing mighty miracles, signs, and wonders, just as Jesus Christ commanded. (Mark 16:15-20; Acts 5:12; 6:8; 8:5-8; 9:33-34, 36-41; 13:6-11; 14:8-10, 19-23; 16:25-25; 19:1-6,11-12; 20:9-12; & 28:7-9)
This was all made possible because God had recreated the Apostles and other converted Christians all anew in Christ—just as we are today recreated in Christ. Thus, the working of miracles became an essential part of the Apostles and lay Christians’ Ministries. As they preached the gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere; miracles, signs, and wonders followed as a natural order and course of their ministry to the people. As they preached the gospel, miracles were poured out on the people. The Apostles and lay Christians of the early Church, became miracles waiting to happen for people in crises!
Likewise, you are a God-send to this world, gifted with an abundance of “Miracles” to bring God-good to all of mankind, so that God may be glorified in the earth. There are multitudes of miracles inside your regenerated heart waiting to happen for someone else! God has made you the steward of the mysteries (secrets) of the Kingdom of God, which shall be made manifest through you. (Mark 4: 22 & I Cor. 4:1) Again, for every crisis that comes, there is a miracle of Christ to conquer it!
Even more amazing, when the person who suffered from the crisis is delivered and receives Jesus as Lord and Savior, the miracle working power of God in you, also becomes replicated in them! Let's turn to Matt.10:8. Jesus said these words to the disciples related to the exercise of their delegated authority and power over the devil and all manner of sickness and disease:
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Jesus said to the disciples, “freely they had received,” and to “freely give.” Jesus was commanding the disciples not only to heal all manner of diseases and sickness, but also charging them to freely share the authority and power vested in them with the recipients of healing and deliverance—for those who would believe in His name.
This is essential work of the Great Commission—to put the “Law of Remuneration” into effect all over the world. That is, as born-again Christians preach the gospel to every person, those who believe and are converted, themselves become Miracle workers and witnesses for Christ everywhere. (Mark 16:15-18) My God what a blessing this is! God desires to empower every person on the planet with the gospel of Jesus Christ and authority and power over the devil and his works to crack, crumble, and crush every crisis that comes in this fallen world.
So then Where Are the Miracles Today?
In many places and by many people—Christians and Non-Christians are asking why we rarely if ever see miracles in our Churches? Some Non-Christians even mock us, and say if Jesus Christ and the Bible are real, why don’t we see miracles in Church and performed by Christians? Before I answer the question let’s get something straight.
Miracles are just as plentiful today, as they were when Jesus Christ ministered as the Son of Man on earth, and during the age of the Apostles and early Church of Jesus Christ over 2000-years ago. I should say this even better and more emphatically—miracles are more plentiful and available today than they were 2000 years ago!
God’s promises and goodness are progressive and never slack off! Jesus Christ said He came that we might have life and life more abundantly. (John 10:10) Jesus said we are to do the same works He did and greater works as He is seated at the right hand of God. (John 14:12) The Apostle Paul said God is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. (Eph. 3:20)
Furthermore, God does not change and Jesus is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. (Mal. 3:6 & Heb.13:8) However, everyone has the right to ask, where are the miracles today? If we are made in the likeness of Jesus Christ, then we must also demonstrate that we can do the same things He did. But, God is not looking for skeptics and critics. Rather, He is searching for optimists who are looking only to Him to make their lives like heaven on earth today! God says draw near to me and I will draw near to you—you come to me believing that “I Am”, and I will pour myself out on you! (James 4:8)
So let me answer the question, why are miracles rarely, if ever, performed in our Churches or by born-again Christians individually today?
The answer is simple: The body of Christ has lost its mojo!
NEWS FLASH SAINTS:
THE BODY OF CHRIST HAS CASTED AWAY IT’S “CONFIDENCE” IN WORKING MIRACLES!
The single most important ingredient required in working miracles is “confidence.” I am not talking about having “self-confidence” to do miracles—that will never release the power of the Holy Ghost to do anything. Jesus Christ said apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) I am saying that the vast majority of Churches, and born-again Christians, have thrown away/lost their confidence in God working through them personally to do miracles, and they don’t know where to find it!
I am going to close this Session with this vitally important Scripture at Hebrews 10:35-37. Few Christians even understand that the following verses are a part of our New Covenant with God in Jesus Christ. The writer of the Book of Hebrews says:
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Tell me, are you “confident” in God working miracles through you? Or, are you unsure, apprehensive, afraid, or even perhaps unwilling to let God use you to do miracles? Next week, I will share my personal experiences with raising the dead to life, and in the weeks to come talk about three key reasons why born-again Christians lack confidence in working of miracles, and how to get our mojo (confidence) back! Amen to the preaching of the Living Word of God!
