Jeronda Lynn-Bell Hairston

Minister

Minister Jeronda Lynn-Bell Hairston serves as the Superintendent of our Youth Ministry. She is affectionately known as “Mamma J.”—and for a very good reason. Her life epitomizes Matthew 25: 35-36.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.

With unconditional love, Jeronda gives care, support and encouragement to, not only her six children and six grandchildren, but to everyone, especially to children and the disadvantaged. No matter what hardships come her way, or to others, her favorite saying is “keep it moving forward.” For over a decade, Jeronda has been a faithful member of our ministry and served in many capacities. She is a passionate, patient, and thorough teacher of children and youth. For many years, she served as a lead instructor in our Sunday School Department, and she was recently promoted to Superintendent of Youth Ministries.

Jeronda was born and raised in Vineland, New Jersey. She along with her family served the Lord with distinction at the Peabody Mennonite Church in her hometown. Upon completion of her secondary education, she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in disability nursing, from Cumberland County College (Rowan College of South Jersey). Her work experience in the Health care industry is extensive, and where she shines as a bright light for Jesus Christ.

For nearly 30 years she has been employed in several positions at Adventist Healthcare. She is currently employed as an Occupational Health Specialist/LPN. As a warrior and hero during the Covid-19 pandemic, and throughout her career, she has worked tirelessly with hospital staff to ensure that all health care professionals at the hospital work in an environment that is free of safety and health hazards. Jeronda has also served in several first responder roles, crisis prevention, and end-of-life care programs, such as: The Emergency Medical Services and Air Care Team, Christ in Action under the Faith-Based First Responder Program, Assisted Intervention in Crisis, Pastoral Intervention Crisis, Chaplain Basic Training Program, and the “No One Dies Alone” Program. She also worked for many years as a cardiology technician for Banks Cardiology Associates at Providence Hospital.

Over her years of service in health care, Jeronda has received numerous commendations and awards for outstanding achievement in serving the health care needs of people in the Greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area. Moreover, she serves as a volunteer with the Domestic Violence Association and Cancer Foundation and Crisis Center. Her goal is to someday open a Christian Outreach Center, where underserved populations can receive the love of God and basic care services. Indeed, we are blessed and proud to have her on Our Team!
