Sermon Part 2: “Learning To Speak The Language of Perfected Peace!”

The Psalmist wrote, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen. I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of Host is with us: The God of Jacob is our refuge (hiding place, shelter, or place of trust). Selah.” (Ps.46:10-11)
As we begin this Sermon, let’s obey the Command of God and just “Be Still” for a few minutes. Each one of us, search your born-again hearts, and know that God is (The Self-Existent One, besides whom there is none other!), and He is in you and with you.
Notice that your born-again heart is in a steady-state of tranquility, rest, serenity, and the fullness of joy. This is because Jesus Christ has gifted to you His “Perfected Peace.” (John14:27)
Now, listen as God in the Person of the Holy Ghost (The Comforter) talks with you. For the Holy Ghost will share with you the “Language/Words from the vocabulary of Perfected Peace.” Perhaps you hear the Lord saying He loves you; trust Me, He is with you; to turn away from some secret sin; Not to fear, doubt, nor be afraid for He is your security; come nearer to Me, give me what your have, be healed, and/or to worship, praise, and exalt His Holy name. These are among the many Words of Peace motivated by Love that God is thinking towards you, that He in turn wants you to speak over your life and the lives of others. (Jer.29:11)
In this place of stillness, if we continued, likely the Holy Ghost would reveal works of Christ and begin to direct your path to do them using the language of Perfected Peace to bring glory to God the Father. Also, as you go about your day, the Holy Ghost would reveal “hidden wisdom” to prosper you in all affairs of life.
Yes, God longs for you daily to be still, to teach you the language of Perfected Peace and how to release the Power of Peace to bring wholeness to your life and household, and other people who are amenable to receiving your Peace! For Proverbs 14:30 says, “A tranquil heart is life to the body!”
Saints, before I say more resist, cease, and desist the temptation from the enemy Satan to think of God’s Perfected Peace, in the same way that the carnal people of this world think of peace. That is as some kind of vague sentiment, platitude, well-wish, or the expression of a kind-feeling. No, no, no! God’s Perfected Peace is “tangible” and “transferable” and of great supernatural Power when released to bring goodness and favor upon individuals, families, and the atmosphere and environment to triumph over tribulation and difficult times in this world.
Good Morning Saints of God and Happy Sunday!
Last Sunday, we began learning about the Perfected Peace of Jesus Christ, which has been gifted to us through the Holy Ghost. We said that before God created the cosmos and earth, Jesus Christ was with God and “co-equal” with God (who is Peace and the grantor of Peace) and the Holy Ghost; and the Holy Threeness existed in “Perfected Peace.” (John1:1-2, &14) The Perfected Peace of the Holy Threeness is unmovable, unshakable, and endures forever! Perfected Peace is the state of total, uninterrupted tranquility, wholeness, and mental rest that “transcends” (surpasses, supersedes, excels above and beyond) external circumstances. Umm, Perfected Peace functions, if will, as a “spiritual catapult;” stretching tribulation (“trouble” or difficult times) into a force that launches believers into God’s “goodwill and favor,” and into ever increasing higher spiritual growth and maturity in Christ Jesus.
Saints, there was no form of tribulation (trouble) orchestrated by Lucifer/Satan in the Before Times (Is.14:12-19), nor after God’s creation of the cosmos and earth, and as long as the universe remains, that is able to disturb the Perfected Peace of God. Praise God, Jesus demonstrated for us the all-powerful Perfected Peace of God, as He was tempted of the devil at all points like as we are, and did not once sin. (Heb. 4:14-16) And, Almighty God, through Jesus’ crucifixion, Resurrection from the dead on the third-day, and Ascension-on-High, all believers in Him have been made “joint-heirs” with Christ and given the gift of Perfected Peace within their born-again hearts. (Rom.8:17)
Yes, Saints it’s possible to live the rest of your life and never willfully sin again because you have the Perfected Peace of Christ in these earthen vessels. (I John 3:9 & 5:18) Jesus is “Perfected Peace” and abides in you! You will not abstain from the practice of sin by human will nor might, but by the Spirit of the Lord. Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee.” Raise your hands and voices to God and say, “Thank you Jesus for the gift of Perfected Peace!”
Now, with even greater emphasis I say unto you Saints that the Perfected Peace of God is not of this world, but of God and the Kingdom of God, (Rom.14:17) and given to you to “transcend” tribulation; turning all trouble into triumph by using the language of Perfected Peace with corresponding effectual supernatural actions following and flowing from the Kingdom of God/Kingdom of Heaven. We must understand that every Account given to us in the Gospels of the Public Ministry of Jesus Christ is for an example to study, learn, and apply Christ’s Perfected Peace in our daily living. Jesus is called the “Prince of Peace” and we are His “Ambassadors of Peace.” (II Cor.5:20) Jesus wants us to learn of His Perfected Peace established in our hearts, and give our Peace away to our fellow man.
In this regard, last week, we began studying numerous Accounts in the Gospels of how Jesus used Perfected Peace to overcome all manner of tribulation; including during His Passion choosing to obey God and remain “silent” and reviling not again when falsely accused, beaten and marred beyond recognition, and betrayed by His disciples; while enduring the agony of the cross choosing to forgive His executioners (the Jews for which He was sent to save), as well as the sins of a malefactor hanging next to Him all while bearing the sins of the world for all times in His own body. Every work of Perfected Peace exhibited by Jesus was carried out because of His “Oneness” with God the Father, in whom He wholeheartedly “trusted in the Love of the Father” and obeyed; throughout His Ministry only saying and doing what He had observed in the Spirit of His Father’s Business.
Saints, we must accept the Truth, and wholeheartedly embrace by faith that the same Perfected Peace Jesus displayed throughout His Public Ministry and Passion, and even as He is presently seated at the right hand throne of God, belongs to us and is effectual to do the same works and greater works of Jesus. (John 14:12) That, even now, as so many of us are experiencing trouble on every side in this fallen world, Christ’s Perfected Peace has secured and shielded our hearts and minds from evil, fear and torment, and is ready to do a mighty work of deliverance and restoration in us, and for those whom we have concern.
We need only to “study” Jesus’ Peace in Scriptures, meditate on them and learn the language of Perfected Peace and use it! Amazing Testimonies of how we have overcome trouble will burst forth mightily with the fruit of Perfected Peace. (Ps.1:2-3)

The fruit of Perfected Peace is the tangible outward showing of a stable inner-calmness that persists regardless of external circumstances; the transcendent Peace that surpasses yours and all other people’s understanding and brings forth miracles of healing, deliverance, reconciliation, and restoration. (Php.4:7) Perfected Peace is an integral part of the “Fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22), representing a deep sense of wholeness, security, and trust in God. As we walk in Perfected Peace, we become living Epistles read of men; with transformed lives, actions, and character observed by others that witness Christ in in our hearts, the hope of glory. (II Cor. 3:2-3)
Now today, illustrated primarily through Accounts in the Gospel according to Matthew Chapter 14, we are going to take an in-depth look into the Perfected Peace of Christ Jesus to learn the language of Peace, and its accompanying supernatural actions from the Kingdom of God to bring goodness and favor to Mankind in a time of profound crisis. I chose the Accounts in Matthew Chapter 14 (As well as the same Accounts recorded in the Gospels of Mark, Luke, and John) because it was an especially tumultuous and laborious time in the Ministry of Jesus Christ. A time of great horror and sorrow as John the Baptist (the cousin and forerunner of Jesus born six-month apart) had been executed while imprisoned, by beheading at the order of Herod Antipas, and request of his wife Herodias and her daughter Salome.

We know that the death of John the Baptist had to way exceedingly heavy on the heart and mind of Jesus. For Psalm 116:15 states, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” John the Baptist served as the ultimate catalyst for Jesus’ Ministry by acting as the prophetic forerunner who prepared the nation for the Messiah. He formally announced and inaugurated Jesus’ Public Ministry through water baptism, and redirected his own followers to Jesus. As the bridge between the Old and New Covenants, John’s Message of repentance delivered to diverse crowds in the Judean-wilderness and Jordan River region, directly fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy to “make straight the way of the Lord.” (Is.40:3)
Unlike Old Testament Prophets who foretold the coming of the Messiah from a distance, John “personally” witnessed and identified Jesus as the Christ Savior of the world, declaring prior to baptism, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29, 36) Jesus, therefore honored and regarded John the Baptist as the greatest Prophet of all. (Matt.11:11) Yet, in the midst of John’s tragic death, we see Jesus remaining in a steady-state of Perfected Peace as the work of the Father’s Business must move forward.
Throughout Chapter 14, we will see that as trouble arose, Jesus always first spoke the Words of Peace and then the Power of God was released to catapult people over trouble and bring to them goodness and favor of God and the Kingdom of God. Jesus’ Oneness with God the Father being the source of Peace and abiding therein, He only did what He heard and saw the Father doing, and the miracles performed witnessed that He is the Son of the Living God.
So let’s start with the Account of Jesus receiving the news of John the Baptist’s death from John’s disciples beginning at Matthew 14:19-36. In each Account, I will highlight for you Christ’s Words of Perfected Peace, and then the Power of Peace at work, along with my commentary.
9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.
10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.
12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.
13 When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.

Saints, there is much to be said here. The “bad” news report of the beheading of John the Baptist caused profound sorrow and grief among his followers and Jesus. John’s death an unjust, violent, and premature end to a righteous life, highlighted the tragic, high cost of speaking Truth to power as John had publicly condemned King Herod Antipas for unlawfully marrying Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, rightfully calling it a sinful violation of Jewish law. (Luke 3:19 & Mark 6:17-20) Under the Law of Moses, the penalty for adultery was death for both the man and woman involved. (Lev. 20:10 and Deut. 22:22) This bold confrontation led to John's imprisonment and eventual beheading.
When Jesus heard the evil report of John’s death, He did not express anger and rage over the murderous act Herod had done to John, nor did He curse the name of Herod and pledge revenge before John’s followers and encourage an overthrow of Herod’s ruler-ship. Instead Jesus, told His disciples (who had just returned from preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God in the villages with reported great success), to get into a ship and they withdrew to a deserted place (a solitary, uninhabited area) near Bethsaida. (Mark 6:31)
Leaving Jerusalem served several Purposes such as to avoid premature conflict with Herod Antipas, to mourn and process the emotional loss of His cousin and forerunner in private, and to connect and commune with God the Father. In Mark 6:31, Jesus’ specific Words of Peace to His disciples were, “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place and rest a while.” This served as a “Call” to His exhausted disciples to escape the overwhelming crowds, find solitude, and rejuvenate in His Presence where there is the fullness of joy. (Ps.16:11)
Jesus’ Peaceful actions of traveling to a place of solitude in the immediacy of John’s sudden and horrible death and burial serves as a model for all believers in Christ to follow in finding comfort, strength, and divine guidance in times of deep distress. When facing the sudden and tragic death of a loved-one, get still and listen to God “Call” you away; to steal away to connect and commune with Him. To commune with God is a “vital” life-giving act that offers comfort, strength, and a safe space to process overwhelming grief. As grief tries to smother the human brain and heart with hopelessness and lead folks to an early grave.
In the midst of such pain, faith in Jesus and His finished works on the cross provides a foundation to navigate the "shock" and profound sadness, allowing for a deeper connection with God who is close to the brokenhearted. (Ps.34:18) In solitude with the Lord, we receive from His Perfected Peace, beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. (Is.61:3)
Saints, before moving on, perhaps you have wondered why Jesus did not raise John the Baptist from the dead upon hearing the news of his death. Jesus could have gone to John’s grave, as He did for example with His good friend Lazarus who had been dead for four-days and body already decomposing, and raised him up. (John 11:38-44) In fact, prior to the death of John, Jesus had sent out His own disciples under His Authority to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and heal the sick and raise the dead throughout the villages where He planned to travel. (Matt.10:7-8)
Moreover, while John the Baptist was in prison he heard about the works of Christ, but in moments of weakness and doubt, he sent two of his disciples to ask Jesus, “Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?” (John shut-up in prison for a long time, thinking that Jesus was not acting as a political liberator as he supposed, began to question his previous convictions of Jesus being the Christ and wondered whether God would send another.)
Indeed, these were offensive words proffered by John. But, Jesus is “Love,” and Love keeps no record of wrongs committed and bears all things.” (I Cor.13:5-7) Likewise, there are times along our Christian journey, when people close to us and far off, attempt to attack our Christian calling and election with doubts and negative assertions. But we are to hold our Peace, walk in the liberty of Christ, bless and pray for them, and continue to do the miracle works of Christ.
So in response to John’s question, Jesus told his disciples to go and tell John again that the things he had heard and seen were True: “The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.” (Matt.11:2-6)
Saints, the reason Jesus did not raise John the Baptist from the dead was because his work on earth was “finished.” John’s Mission as the forerunner was complete; to introduce Jesus and prepare the way. His death fulfilled his God-Given Purpose to “decrease” while Jesus increased. It was not God’s divine Will to save John from his martyrdom; else Jesus in the Spirit would have been instructed by the Holy Ghost to raise him up.
From this Saints, we must learn that while as born-again Christians we are empowered with Authority to heal the sick and raise the dead, this Authority is directed by the Holy Ghost who is the agent of resurrection life. And, operating in this Power requires being led by the Holy Ghost to align with God's Timing and Will. Thus, we raise the dead as God permits and by the unction of the Holy Ghost. (Heb.6:1-3)
14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
While journeying to the desert place near Bethsaida, the crowds saw and followed after Jesus on foot out of the cities, bringing the sick with them. Glory be to God, the multitudes of people had an expectation and determination within themselves, and for their loved ones, to seek after Jesus to find Him and receive healing, and to hear His Words. Jesus in solitude, fresh with the memory of the tragic loss of John, went forth and saw masses of people who were in need of healing and like sheep without a Shepard.
Notice that in Jesus’ time of mourning, He did not run from the crowds and tell His disciples to send them away. Jesus was not so stricken with grief and emotional distress that He could not Minister to those in need. Instead, in Perfected Peace, “He went forth from the place of solitude and seeing the massive crowds and had deep compassion on them, and healed all the sick among them.

In this Account, the Apostle Matthew does not provide the specific words and actions Jesus took to heal the sick; likely too enumerable to individually mention. However, we know from many other stories of Christ healings recorded in the Gospels, that His Perfected Peace (Shalom-wholeness, completeness, health, prosperity, and harmony) was released through compassionate actions directed by the Holy Ghost; through “touching them,” “speaking Commands” to arise and take up sick beds and walk, saying “let it be” unto the person according as they desired, casting out demons with a Word and cursing diseases to fulfill Prophecy, or even using environmental elements at-hand, such as mud, to give sight to the blind. Yes, the Lord’s Perfected Peace transcended all of the crowd’s troubles with the goodness and favor of God from the Kingdom of God resting upon them.
15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
18 He said, Bring them hither to me.
19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
So often when we tell the miracle story of Jesus “Feeding the Multitudes,” we do not consider the event in light of it occurring while Jesus was mourning the loss of John the Baptist. Remember the deserted place is where He and the disciples had sought rest. The hour of day was long spent, and evening had come, and for the sake of rest, the disciples wanted Jesus to send the people away. The Jews had two evenings, the first evening at 3:00 PM the time of the evening sacrifice, and the second evening at 6:00 PM near sunset.
Jesus did not want the people to go away hungry and Commanded the disciples to feed the people for the Perfected Peace of the Lord is always gracious and hospitable. By human reasoning this was an impossible task as the disciples were only able to secure from a youth 5 loaves and two small fishes that would need to feed a crowd of between about 15,000 to 20,000 men, women, and children.
However, Jesus’ Perfected Peace surpassed all human understanding when feeding the multitudes, by remaining calm and compassionate, rather than stressed or irritated. Jesus spoke Words of Perfected Peace by ordering the disciples to “bring to Him” the five loaves and two fishes. For by the Perfected Peace of God in Him, He had already seen and knew how He would feed the multitudes before even asking the disciples to determine how much food was on hand. (John 6:6)
Faced with a massive and hungry crowd, Jesus spoke again Words of Perfected Peace directing the disciples to have the people sit in groups of “50” to ensure orderly, efficient distribution of food by the disciples and to prevent chaos. (Luke 9:14-17 & Mark 6:40) His Command harmonizes well with the Apostle Paul’s instruction to the Christian Church at Corinth, commending, “Let all things be done in decency and in order.” (I Cor.14:40)
This orderly and methodical-structure by Christ also mirrored Moses’s organizing of Israel in the wilderness, symbolizing divine order, (Ex.16:16) Shepherd-like care to the flock, (Ps.23) and a foreshadowing of the “Messianic Banquet!” (Is. 25:6-9 & Rev.19:6-10) The Messianic Banquet (Often called the Marriage Supper of the Lamb) signifies the ultimate, joyous union between Christ (The Groom) and the Church (The Bride both Jew and Gentile) at the End-of-Age. This event celebrates the final victory over death, evil and sorrow, and our eternal fellowship with God in the new Heaven and new earth.
Trusting in God’s Provision, Jesus transformed the scarcity of the five loaves and two small fishes into abundance with plenty more to put in store afterwards (12-baskets full) by quiet Authority. Jesus took the actions of Perfected Peace by: “looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.” The Key to the miracle that Jesus sought to teach the disciples, and to all born-again Christians by extension, is that whenever we experience the trouble of “scarcity,” lack of any kind, do not panic nor be afraid. Instead, “bring whatever you have to Jesus” because it demonstrates faith, enables divine multiplication, and turns insignificant resources into a solution for massive needs.
Jesus teaches us that God uses our meager, insufficient offerings to perform miracles that meet and exceed human needs. (Ref. II Kings 4:1-7) In times and seasons of insufficiency in your life, follow the Words of Perfected Peace, “Bring what you have to Jesus,” and take the actions of Peace by Looking up to Heaven, bless it and watch God multiply it by the Perfected Peace of God in you! In like manner, in Ministering to others who have lack of any kind, speak the Words of Peace, by telling them to “bring whatever they have to you, and then put your Peace to work by Lifting it up to Jesus, bless it, give thanks for it, and watch it multiply! For the Lord is our Shepherd and we shall not want!
22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
Saints, take special note of Verse 22. Matthew records that Jesus Christ had to “constrain” (insist/compel/force) His disciples to get into the ship and enter the Sea of Galilee; to sail from nearby Bethsaida to the plain of Gennesaret about an 8-mile journey. The disciples’ resistance was either because they were “afraid” to return to Herod’s country Jerusalem during the expected commotion over John’s death, or they were unwilling to embark without Jesus, perhaps remembering the last violent storm they had encountered on the Sea of Galilee. Several of the disciples were fishermen of the sea and may have suspected that a storm was imminent that evening and not safe for passage. (Matt.8:23-27)
Remember Saints, on the former occasion on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus and the disciples were at sea and a “great storm” arose and covered the ship they were traveling on with water. Jesus was “asleep” on a cushion in the stern (rear) of the ship, and they awoke Him, and cried “Lord save us we perish.” Jesus then spoke the Words of Perfected Peace to them, saying: “Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith.” Then, immediately Jesus took the actions of Perfected Peace, “He arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was “a great calm.” In Mark’s Account, he notes Jesus’ specific Words that He spoke to the storm, saying, “Peace, be still,” or also interpreted “Quiet, Be Still.” So amazed at the miracle the disciples asked amongst themselves, “What manner of man is this that even the wind and sea obey him?” (Mark 4:39-40)
On this occasion when Jesus had constrained the disciples to sail towards Gennesaret without Him, midway across (about 3-or 4- miles) the wind turned against them, tossing their ship violently and forcing them to toil against the high waves in the middle of the night. From land, Jesus who had gone off to pray, and later that night observed the disciples toiling in the storm on the sea.
In Christian Circles, not much attention has been paid to this, but in Mark’s Account, 6:48, it tells us that Jesus, “saw them toiling in rowing for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night (between 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM in the morning) he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.”
This second sailing exercise was a test of the disciples Peace. Saints, we must understand that whenever God gives you a “gift,” He brings about “tests” for you to use the gift; to build your confidence and trust in Him, and to improve and refine your skillful use of the gift. (James 1:2-4 & Job 23:10) Jesus likely for some matter of time that night from land had been watching the disciples on the sea, to see how they would handle the storm. Jesus was expecting the disciples to use their Peace, (Luke 10:5-6) as He had done to calm the stormy seas during the first storm on the sea. Moreover, He wanted them to remember the great miracle of feeding the 5,000 men and their families that He had just performed with them; to trust in His Love for them and have Peace that nothing could stop them from getting to the other side if they believed in Him. (Mark 6:52)
So Jesus was watching to see whether they had learned to use the vocabulary of Perfected Peace and take Authority to calm the storm. This viewpoint is further supported as Jesus came walking on the water (about 4-miles) faster than the ship was sailing, and He intended to “pass them by.” He only stopped because the disciples cried out in fear thinking they had seen a ghost, which signaled to them that death was imminent. (Mark 6:48-49) But, Jesus had not given the disciples the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. (II Tim.1:7) Jesus, again speaking the Words of Perfected Peace immediately Comforted them saying, “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.”
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
Peter successfully walked on water as he focused solely on Jesus (Perfected Peace). As Peter keeps his focus on Jesus Christ, he experiences supernatural empowerment to do the same work as Jesus. But, he begins to sink the moment he allows himself to be “distracted” by the wind and waves, and fear then breaks his focus. He lets circumstances steal his Peace of mind and begins to sink.
To have Peace and Faith to "walk on water" (achieve the seemingly impossible) means “keeping your focus” solely on Jesus rather than surrounding storms. It requires stepping out of your comfort zone ("the ship"), grounding your faith in the Word of God, and acting despite the presence of trouble and fear. As born-again Christians, our Peace must be tested and put on trial with storms of life to give us experience and anchored hope and trust in the Love of God in Christ Jesus for us. Thus, Christ’s Words of Perfected Peace must be cultivated in our thought-life and applied in daily living.
The “Righteous” are Promised to have Power over “literal and figurative” storms that arise in our lives. So, we are Commanded not to fear, and to be as bold as Elijah (who was a human being like as we are). Elijah declared before King Ahab that “no dew or rain” would fall except at his “word.” And, for the space of three and half years it rained not causing a great famine in the land. Thereafter, Elijah prayed again, and the “heaven gave rain and the earth brought forth her fruit.” (I Kings17:1,18:1 & James 5:17-18).
Jesus Christ has given to us the Words of Perfected Peace for every storm that comes about in our lives. When the tempest are raging in our lives, and the lives of others, know that God is our shelter from the storm, and speak to the storm and boldly declaring: “Peace Be Still!”
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
When Peter cried out, “Lord Save me,” Jesus at once stretched forth his hand and caught Him, and again spoke the Words of Perfected Peace, asking him, “O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? For the Lord is a very present Help in the time of the trouble. (Ps.34: 4 & 46:1) Peter’s water-walking adventure provides a valuable lesson for us. That is, even when we take the initiative to obey God and walk by faith, and somewhere along the way lose confidence and doubt, in our distress, as we call on Jesus, He will be there to deliver and keep us from falling. (Jude 24-25) So, in any storm in life we face Saints there is never a need to fear or worry for God never fails! He is forever faithful, even when we are not. (II Tim.2:13)
In Perfected Peace, Peter walked on the water with Jesus and boarded the ship, thereby witnessing for all believers in Christ that there is nothing we cannot do through Christ that strengthens us. (Php.4:13) Whatever Christ has “bided” us to do, if we go with Him in His Perfected Peace we will succeed.
After Jesus and Peter entered the ship, the winds and sea immediately became calm, and the disciples came to Jesus and worshiped Him; recognizing His divinity and possessing Absolute Power over nature. Speaking the ultimate Words of Perfected Peace the disciples said of a Truth, “Thou art the Son of God.” Knowing all we know about Jesus Christ in our lives, let us also bow down and worship Him, saying, “Jesus you are the only begotten Son of the Living God.”
34 And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
We would be sorely remised if we did not pay close attention to Verse 34 of Mathew 14. For it contains one of the greatest of all miracles Jesus performed, with the disciples as eye-witnesses. Matthew records, “And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret. After, the disciples worshipped Jesus as the Son of God, the ship immediately was “supernaturally transported” from the storm area in the middle of the sea to land; about four-miles to shore.
The Apostle John wrote about this wonder this way: “Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land wither they went.” The ship, with Jesus and the 12-disciples, was no doubt carried by God’s Power like Phillip, in baptizing the Ethiopian eunuch in water was straightway carried bodily through the air from a desert road near Gaza to Azotus; a distance of about 25-miles. (Acts 8:39-40) Not only did Jesus exhibit Power over the storm and nature, but also showcased His Power over the entire physical world; validating His Mission and Message as the “only begotten Son of God!” As we worship Jesus with our whole-hearts with the Words of Perfected Peace concerning His divinity, untold supernatural wonders can take place far beyond human comprehension and ability. (Jer. 33:3, Dan.11:32, and I Cor. 2:9-10)
Lastly and I close, with the miracles Jesus performed when He and the disciples arrived in the plain of Gennesaret. The people of that place recognized Jesus and went throughout the whole Region and gathered the people; including all the sick and those upon sick-beds and laid them in the streets hoping Jesus would heal them as He passed by. The throngs of people even begged to “touch” the border of His garment. And, as many as touched Him were made “perfectly whole.” (Mark 6:53-56 & Matt.14:36)

This last Account demonstrates that Christ’s Perfected Peace worked miracles even when He was “silent” and walking along the streets of Gennesaret. Jesus walked the earth in complete “Oneness” with God the Father. (John 10:30) Each step He took was in the compassionate Perfected Peace of God. The clothes He adorned, Words He spoke, Wonders He performed, and Character He portrayed before all people exemplified and exalted God the Father. Because Jesus lived in a “steady-state” of tranquility with the Holy Threeness, the divine Power of the Holy Ghost within Him freely flowed out in response to active, desperate faith of those seeking His Help, even without speaking a Word of Perfected Peace.
I said at the outset of the Sermon that Perfected Peace is “tangible” and “transferrable.” The crowds of people who touched Jesus in faith made contact with the wholeness with in Him and were made “perfectly whole.” Praise Almighty God within our born-again hearts, Jesus has transferred His Perfected Peace to us through the Holy Ghost, and made us Ambassadors of His Peace. To freely give away our Peace, either through Words of Perfected Peace spoken or even in silence with people touching our garments or anointed handkerchiefs and aprons as they place their faith in Jesus and being made “perfectly whole!” (Acts.19:11-12)
Here me well Saints of God. While we stand in complete “reverential awe” of the Accounts in the Holy Scriptures of the mighty works of Jesus Christ stemming from His Perfected Peace, and worship Him alone in spirit and in truth as Savior and Lord; we are not to be timid, afraid, nor unbelieving that we too possess the Perfected Peace of Christ in our born-again hearts. We must with all boldness and assuredness speak the language of Perfected Peace on our lives, and others we are sent to Minister to, and expect the same results as Jesus enjoyed to bring glory and honor to God the Father.
Yes, we are to speak Peace to storms and they will obey and turn calm, to the sick and they will recover, to devils and they tremble and exit people at our Word, to the dead and they arise from sleep, and as Ambassadors of Peace by the divine Will and Power of God experience supernatural elevation and transport in times of trouble and service to God.
So Saints, as Jesus sent out His disciples, He also sends you with the Words of Perfected Peace to preach the gospel and win the lost to Christ: To whatsoever house ye enter, first say “Peace be to this house. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it, if not it shall return unto you.” Turn to your neighbor now and say, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Amen for the preaching of the Word of the Living God. Next week, the Lord willing, we will examine how to “Hold On To Your Peace of Mind and Never Practice Sin!”
