Sermon Part 2: “Would You Please Just Do The Work of God!”
Happy Sunday Saints of the Most-High God!

The Apostle Paul pinned at Ephesians 2:10, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Saints, take this to heart. Its High-Time that every born-again Christian elevate their human conscious and way of thinking to match the great work of love and grace that God has bestowed upon the inner-man; our spirit, soul, and mind of the soul through Jesus Christ.
Based on Ephesians 2:10, being God’s handiwork means you are His “Masterpiece,” intentionally designed and crafted for a unique Purpose. Created in Christ Jesus, you are not a random occurrence but a work of art, intended to fulfill specific, prearranged “good works” planned before the world began to bring value, meaning, and intentionality to your life to the glory of God the Father. Furthermore, you were designed by God on Purpose with specific “supernatural” skills, passions, and with the Character and Personality of Christ.
Before the world began, God prepared specific “good works” for you to walk in. These “good works” are not confined to things performed through human intelligence and capability; but are supernatural and dynamic in their workings. You are to do good works that are “impossible” to perform by human inclination and ingenuity. The good works are among the same works (miracles, signs, and wonders) that Jesus Christ performed during His Public Ministry on earth, as well as the greater works He Promised all believers in Him would do. In fact, let’s read together aloud Jesus’ Promise made to the disciples at John 14:12:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Now, I would venture to say that most, if not all born-again Christians during some point in “Time” in their walk with Christ Jesus, have had the desire, imagination, hope, or the inclination to work miracles. How about you Saints? For certain, within the heart of every born-again Christian resides such passions and supernatural abilities, and the Holy Ghost urges/releases an unction in your heart to do them. (I John 2:20) Jesus is recorded as saying at Acts 1:8:
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
My, my, my; Saints think about how many “Times” you have encountered people suffering from a sickness or illness, perhaps demon oppression or possession, a disability, or who were comatose or had suddenly died; and you felt in your heart a deep yearning and compassion to heal them, or raise them up from the dead.
Haven’t there been “Times” when you imagined yourself healing large numbers of people like Jesus Christ and the Apostles did: Touching them, laying hands on them, or speaking to them and calling forth healings? This was not your imagination running wild; rather it was “Godly Imagination; God-imaging revealed to you by the Holy Ghost of works of God planned for you to do in the present and future!”
Please know that every person sick and ailing in their physical bodies and/mental states is “precious in the sight” of God in Christ Jesus; and the Anointing Power of Jesus Christ is available to heal, deliver, and set them free! (Luke 4:18) The Holy Scriptures give witness to God’s unfeigned love and care for the ailing:
Psalm 41:3
The Lord supports the sick and restores them from illness.
Psalm 103:2-3
The Lord forgives all iniquities and heals all thy diseases.
Psalm 147:3
God heals the brokenhearted and mends their wounds.
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
You would be simply amazed at the number of “Times” your encounters with people suffering from ailments were God-ordained and arranged moments in which He positioned you to do miracles; and all of Heaven and the Holy Angels were waiting on you to do the “Work of God!” For Saints, I submit to you that there would be no reason for God to have made you His “Handiwork,” foreordained good works and given to you the requisite supernatural skill-sets to do them, if He did not intend for you to work miracles. Furthermore Saints, what’s the point of giving to you the “Power” (Greek Word “dunamis” meaning “Miraculous Power) of the Holy Ghost upon your new birth in Christ, if God did not intend for you to use it to do miracles and serve as a witness unto Jesus Christ so people might believe in the only True God!
In fact, at John 4:48 it is recorded that Jesus Christ told one man whose son was about to die, that unless he and other of the Jews saw miraculous signs and wonders, they simply would not “believe.” The Apostle Paul also acknowledged at I Corinthians 1:22 that many of the Jews required a sign (miracles) to believe. Even with Jesus’ twelve hand-picked disciples, the night before His Passion, Jesus assuring that He and God the Father were “One” said to them: “Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.”
Saints, it is God’s expectation that you bring forth “much fruit;” chief among the abundance of fruit we are to bear; is preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and soul-winning, and doing miracles that witness to all people that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the only begotten Son of God the Father. Below, see Christ’s Words recorded at John 15:7-8:
If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask (demand, require) what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
Any Christian who claims to be a disciple of Christ must bear the fruits of soul winning and miracle working. However, frankly speaking, most born-again Christians never realize their spiritual potential, as well as see their inward ambitions of doing miracles in accordance with the Command of Jesus Christ and at the behest of the Holy Ghost. Instead, most often Christians limit themselves to privately praying to God for miracles and faith healings, or submitting the ailing person’s name on a Church Prayer List for corporate prayer.
Week-after-week, year-after-year, almost as a religious habit when born-again Christians learn of a person who is sick or experiencing some kind of trouble the action taken is to remember the person in prayer. And, most times their prayer “petitions” God to do the work to heal the person or help them out of some troublesome situation.

In fact, there are Churches and Ministries all over the world this Sunday morning, offering up prayers for people who are sick or ill; asking God to heal them. Indeed “Prayer” is a good thing for Jesus Christ said, “…men ought always to pray and not faint.” (Luke 18:1) Jesus also said, God’s House is called the “House of Prayer!” (Matt.21:13) The problem, however, with much of our prayer petitions is that we tend to ask God to do the work of healing the sick, and we never “listen” to what God has to say in response to the petition. Oh Saints, please remember that when we call on God in accordance with His Holy Word, He answers! Psalm 91:15 says:
“He shall call upon me, and I will answer him…” At Jeremiah 33:3, God says “Call unto me, and I will shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” In earnest prayer made for the sick, God through the Holy Ghost seeks to show us in the Spirit images of the person’s “restoration” and provide instructions for us to “go” and “do” the Work of God and heal the sick, raise up those near death, or even if He permits to raise the dead. Glory be to God!
Here is a News Flash for you Saints: Healing the sick is not God’s job; it’s our job to do for God is with us! The working of miracles, including healing the sick, casting out devils, and raising the dead is a New Covenant Authority and Responsibility delegated to us by God in Christ Jesus in fulfillment of the Great Commission. Remember that God Almighty is the Covenant making and Keeping God with those who love Him. (Deut.7:9) God moves and acts according to His Covenants with His People, and not in alignment with our ways and whims.
Just before Jesus Christ was taken up into Heaven, as a part of the New Covenantal Agreement, He Commanded the disciples (turned Apostles) as follows:
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Recall Saints that the disciples experienced a foretaste of this Great Worldwide Covenantal Mission Work during Jesus’ Public Ministry, in which under His Authority, He sent them out two-by two, and then afterwards He sent 70 more chosen disciples to preach the Kingdom of God and heal the sick. In obedience with the Lord’s Commandment, the disciples preached the Kingdom of God throughout the towns and healing everywhere! They returned to Jesus giving strong testimony that the devils and demons were subject unto them through the Lord’s name, and recounted that they lacked nothing during their journey. (Luke 9:1-6 & 10:1-9, 17 & 22:35)
However, in Today’s Christian Circles, many of our Churches and denominations, and born-again Christians individually, have stubbornly chosen to remain within the cozy four-wall confines of the Church and their private residences praying to God to do the work of the Ministry; instead of doing their part in the New Covenant of preaching the Gospel and performing miracles in fulfillment of the Great Commission.
Truthfully speaking, many Churches and Christians individually do not even “believe” any more in “faith healing,” and have instead placed and embraced their hope and trust of physical restoration in the wisdom and hands of medical doctors and science, and other health practitioners. Forsaking wholehearted acceptance and trust in the Promise of God of divine healing and health given to us as a Covenant-Right, and the ability to work miracles as a part of the Gospel Message to win the lost to Christ. Regarding their own personal health, as well as that of others, many Christians prioritize the wisdom of physicians above God’s Wisdom: Holding on to what the doctor has said above what God and His Word Promises.
Moreover, the vast majority of the Body of Christ has neglected and abandoned teaching and practicing the administration of the gifts of the Spirit (e.g. Wisdom, Knowledge, Faith, Healing, Miracles, Prophecy, Discernment and more) given to us as an inheritance to profit the sick, broken-hearted, bruised, poor, and those trapped in demonic bondage. (I Cor.12:7-11) These gifts of the Spirit are accessed and “violently seized” through earnest and fervent prayer to help us, as a “practice,” to do the Work of God. If in corporate and private prayer-time we listened to God, the Holy Ghost would enlighten and release manifestations of the Spirit to the working of manifold-miracles on behalf of the sick and poor.
Saints, I hear God and all of Heaven saying, in this second and last Sermon of the Series saying: “Would You Please Just Do The Work of God!” When we place the responsibility on God to do the work of miracles, as so many Churches and Christians do individually, we fail to “Believe Right!” When we assign the task for God to heal, we are not in faith as we suppose, but are instead trapped in the bowels of fear, doubt, and unbelief. As I mentioned earlier, we have been given the Spiritual Authority and Responsibility to heal the sick through the blood of the everlasting New Covenant with God in Christ Jesus. Many Scriptures witness this Truth: Mark 16:15-18, Acts 1:8, Eph. 3:19-21, James 5:16, Heb.13:20-21, & I Pet. 2:24.
Additionally, to confirm the Word of God and Covenant Promises of Healing, the Book of the Acts of the Apostles, written by the Apostle Luke is filled with accounts of how after
Jesus' Resurrection from the dead on the third-day and Ascension, the Apostles continued Christ’s Healing Ministry through the Power of the Holy Ghost. The Apostles went everywhere preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and healing the sick in the synagogues, homes, and highways and byways.
Saints, God is not a man that He should lie. He does not change, and is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. (Num. 23:19, Mal. 3:6 & Heb.13:8) Thus, we must have the same “Acts” as the Apostles because we have received Salvation and the Holy Ghost and Power through wholehearted belief in the precious name of Jesus Christ just as they had received.
Detailed below for your personal enlightenment and to strengthen belief in you going forth and doing miracles, are several of the Apostolic Accounts of healing recorded in the Book of Acts. Take the time this week to study each of them and let the Holy Ghost teach you all things concerning healing people with reports of sickness and illness that come into your path.
- Acts 3:1-10 (Peter and John): A man crippled from birth is healed at the temple gate called Beautiful in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Acts 5:12-16 (Peter): Sick people were brought into the streets on beds so that even Peter's shadow might fall on them, resulting in everyone being healed.
- Acts 9:33-34 (Peter): Peter heals Aeneas, a man paralyzed for eight-years, saying, "Jesus Christ maketh thee whole."
- Acts 9:36-42 (Peter): Peter raises Tabitha (Dorcas) from the dead in Joppa.
- Acts 14:8-10 (Paul): Paul heals a man lame from birth in Lystra.
- Acts 19:11-12 (Paul): Extraordinary miracles occurred where handkerchiefs or aprons touched by Paul were taken to the sick, curing diseases and casting out evil spirits.
- Acts 28:8-9 (Paul): Paul heals Publius’ father of fever and dysentery, (intestinal infection) after which others on the island of Malta were also healed.
Clearly from the Record of the Acts of the Apostle we can see that in working miracles, God is not looking for us to only make prayers; He is looking for us to “do” the Work of God. Consider how Jesus operated in His Ministry, the Apostle Luke wrote at Acts 10:38:
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Consider what Jesus said at Matthew 5:16:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
James the brother of Jesus also wrote, we are to show faith by “works.” (James 1:22-27 & 2:9-26) Paul wrote to Titus, that he was to be zealous of “good works,” as they are the only kind that are redeemed. (Titus 2:11-15) Also, in Titus 3:4-6, Paul stated that we have been regenerated by the Holy Ghost and given the abundant new life of Jesus Christ; and we know that His life on earth was full of the Miracle working Power of God resulting in so many miracles that if all were recounted and written in books the world would not be able to contain them. (John 21:25)
So Saints, the operative question becomes, and this question has been on the minds and hearts of all those who seek to follow after Jesus Christ and do the works that He and the Apostles did. That is, “How do we do miracles?” The answer is given to us in John’s Gospel Chapter 6:28-29, where many followers of Jesus found Him in Capernaum, and during a discourse related to the working of miracles (albeit many of the people were incredulous and unbelieving of Him) they asked Him this question in Verse 28.
28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
My, my, my; a simple answer to the most important question in doing the “Work” of God: Believe in Jesus Christ whom God sent to redeem Mankind from sin. More specifically, in John 6:29, Jesus defines the "Work of God" not as a set of legalistic deeds, but as the act of believing (trusting, relying on, and releasing the gift of faith) in Him as the “One” sent by the Father God. This singular, vital action is the foundation of all other “righteous works,” (such as doing miracles) distinguishing true faith from mere human performance.
Saints, when you gave your life to Jesus Christ, with your whole-heart you “believed” (trusted, relied on, and released the gift of faith) in Jesus as the Savior of the world who died for your sins and rose again from the dead on the third-day. You trusted in Jesus as the Messiah and Provider of eternal life. This “belief” is the primary requirement that pleases God and serves as the source from which all other godly-actions originate.
While in the Passage at John Chapter 6, the crowd following Jesus were asking about “works” in a plural sense (like keeping the law or performing sacrifices), Jesus was emphasizing the singular “Work” of belief in Him as the only way to satisfy God’s Requirements. Jesus’ Response to the crowd’s question about works was narrowed down to one essential, spiritual act of belief, rather than a list of tasks. The Passage highlights that, unlike attempting to earn salvation through self-efforts, God’s Work for Humanity is to wholeheartedly accept and trust in the “Work” already accomplished by Jesus. Praise God, when we wholeheartedly accept and trust in the “Work” already accomplished by Jesus on the cross we “Believe Right” and can do everything He has Commanded us to do according to the Covenant Promises in the Holy Bible.
For consider Saints, we “wholeheartedly” accept and trust that while we were yet sinners it was “Jesus Christ” who bore all of our sins on the cross, and that God washed us from our sins in the shed blood of “Jesus,” and made us kings and priests unto Him. (Rom.5:8 & Rev.1:5) We wholeheartedly accept and trust that when we die we are absent from our bodies, and instantly our spirit and soul is present with the Lord; made possible solely by “Jesus Christ” sacrificial work on the cross, and not by human merit. (II Cor. 5:8) We wholeheartedly accept and trust that “Jesus Christ” is coming again to rapture His Church, and that the dead in Christ shall rise first and those of us who are alive and remain shall be caught up with them to meet Jesus in the air. (I Thess. 4:16-17) Yes, we fully accept and trust that “Jesus” will change our bodies into His glorious likeness!
We wholeheartedly accept and trust in “Jesus Christ” that according to the Holy Bible End-Time Oracles of God following His Second Coming, the Millennial reign of Christ (1,000-year period), described in Revelation 20 will occur as “Christ” will reign with all believers alongside Him on Earth; Satan will be bound, and peace will prevail. We wholeheartedly accept and trust in “Jesus Christ” that after the 1,000-year millennial reign of Christ, Satan will be released for a short time, leading to a final rebellion that is quickly defeated by fire from Heaven. Thereafter culminating in the Great White Throne Judgment, the destruction of the old heaven and earth, and the establishment of the New Jerusalem/Tabernacle of God/the City of God will descend from Heaven and God Himself will dwell with Humanity wherein there shall be nothing but Righteousness and Peace on earth! (Rev. 20: 4-6 & 7-15)
Saints, see how your belief in these Truths and Bible End-Time Prophecy is built upon your “first belief” in Jesus’ finished work on the cross, which brought about the free gift and Salvation and eternal life to you? Just as you “wholeheartedly” accept and trust in Jesus Christ’s finished works on the cross regarding matters of Salvation, His Second Coming and other End-time Prophesies; you are to “believe” in Jesus Christ Commandment as part of the Great Commission to go and preach the gospel and perform miracles, including healing the sick! You are to go and heal the sick wholeheartedly accepting and trusting that Jesus Christ has already finished the work on His cross. Our New Covenant with God in Christ Jesus specifically says so! See I Peter 1:24:
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Praise Almighty God, its High-Time to “Believe Right!” To wholeheartedly accept and trust that you (along with all people who would choose and decide to believe) were “healed” from all physical sicknesses and diseases by the Stripes of “Jesus.”

Yes, Jesus Christ bore in His Stripes all diseases (specified and unspecified) such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, respiratory diseases, obesity, arthritis, high-blood pressure, dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, and illnesses such as flu, Covid-19, HIV-Aids and all sexually transmitted diseases, as well as the common cold.
Jesus’ Stripes healed rare diseases: Genetic conditions like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), metabolic disorders like Gaucher Disease, neurodegenerative diseases like Huntington's Disease, and autoimmune conditions such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), alongside others like Cystic Fibrosis, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and ultra-rare disorders with extremely few cases, like RPI Deficiency.
Jesus’ Stripes healed orthopedic diseases affecting the musculoskeletal system—bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles—impacting mobility and causing pain. Degenerative diseases like osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, injuries like fractures and ACL tears, and chronic issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome, scoliosis, and tendonitis.
Moreover, when Jesus laid down His sinless Life on the cross, once and for all Times; He bore all of the sins, iniquities, and trespasses of the world; through which we have the forgiveness of “sin” and are reconciled to God the Father. (Heb.10:12, Eph. 1:7, & I Pet. 1:24)

Praise God, just as you believe by the finished works of Christ on the cross your sins are washed away and God remembers them no more; you are to wholeheartedly accept and believe that with Christ’s Stripes the report of sickness and disease in your physical body, and that of others, has completely vanished! With this knowledge of the Truth about our Healing and Salvation, we are to go preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to heal the sick; accepting and trusting that miracle healing was accomplished for all people when Jesus suffered and endured the scourging of the whip by the Roman soldiers.
I close now with going a step further in understanding the working of miracles, signs, and wonders of God in Christ Jesus that we are Authorized and Commanded to do. In John Chapter 6, Jesus Christ also guaranteed that anyone who “believes” in Him has “everlasting life.” In fact, let’s examine the Savior’s exact Words:
John 6:40
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:47:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Please note for yourselves and understand Saints that “eternal life” (everlasting life) is not defined as life after death. Jesus said in John 6:40 that any person who believes in Him has “everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” Thus, everlasting life is in force when we are saved; in this life-time and forever. Life after death is a “benefit” of having eternal life. “Eternal life” is a deep and abiding relationship with the only True God the Father and Son Jesus Christ. (John17:3) In believing in the finished works of Jesus Christ on the cross, God has given to you the very “Life-of-God,” or we call it the “God- Kind-of-Life.” It’s the abundant Life Jesus said He came into the world to give to us. (John 10:10) A life filled-with the Nature and Fullness of the Goodness of God. (Col. 2:10) We know that according to Psalm 119:68, God, is the “Do-Good-God,” and that taking away sickness and disease from our midst is a “good work!”
God’s Nature is one of “quickening” dead things to life by calling those things that be not as though they already existed. (Rom. 4:17) Yes, God brings sick and dead things to life, say that with me, “God brings sick things and dead things to life.” When God saved you He quickened your spirit, which was dead in sin and made your spirit alive unto Him, with the eternal Spirit of God! Because you have believed in Jesus and He has given to you “eternal life,” (the God-kind-of life) you possess His Nature, and you are to quicken sick things and dead things to “life;” for the Life giving Spirit of God dwells in you to do the preordained good works of God from the foundations of the world! Glory be to God, the quickening Life giving Power of God is renewed in you daily, without ceasing! (II Cor.4:16)
This is why when you see or hear about a person with a report of disease or illness and look in your born-again Spirit, you see the person healed; the image supplied by eternal life abiding in you and revealed by the Holy Ghost. The Eternal Life Force of God abiding in you has the Power to heal all sickness and disease, as you wholeheartedly accept and trust in Jesus and His finished work on the cross; having already done the miracle and Promise of healing, respectively, to the sinner man as well as to born-again Christians.

Do you now see how simple and elementary doing miracles is; it only requires belief (wholehearted acceptance and trust) that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and has finished and made available healing, Salvation, and every precious Promise in the Word of God by His cross! Glory to God for the things He has done! Jesus Christ paid for it all in full for us! Praise God the song writer Elvina M. Hall wrote the old Gospel Hymn entitled, “Jesus Paid It All,” the lyrics say:
Verse 1
I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small,
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."
Chorus
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
Verse 2
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy pow'r, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots
And melt the heart of stone
Chorus
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
VERSE 3
And when before the throne I stand
in him complete Jesus died my soul
to save My lips shall still repeat
CHORUS
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
REFRAIN x4 Oh praise the one who paid my debt And raised this life up from the dead.
CHORUS
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
Dear Saint of God, cease from being fearful of being used of God to do the “Work of God.” Knowing that it simply requires “Believing Right;” full persuasion that Jesus Christ paid for every miracle the Holy Ghost inspires us to do to bring glory to God. Perhaps not every person we stretch forth our hands to heal and decree their healing will recover, or when we command the dead to come forth perhaps not all will rise. (Some will receive healing and deliverance while others may not.) But, our Covenant assignment is to be obedient to Jesus’ Command and to go and do the ordained works of God to preach the Gospel and lay hands on the sick, using the Holy name of Jesus Christ as the Authority, expecting the manifestation of all we have decreed, as these actions are pleasing in His sight.
The Holy Scriptures highlight that the ultimate desire of a “believer” is to live in a way that is pleasing to God rather than seeking human approval. (Heb.13:21, 1 Thess. 4:1, and Ps.19:14) Frankly speaking, I rather lay hands on 100 sick people and have no results, as well as take the Gospel and preach it to thousands of souls and winning none. Than to have a Christian record standing before God at the Last Day having never laid hands on a single person and believed for their recovery, and/or having never preached the Gospel to a single person in disobedience and neglect of the Great Commission. For dear Saint of God, where is the honor and reward of God in “disobedience” to His Covenant and Precious Promises? So, “Please Just Go and Do the Work of God.” Be confident that you can do miracles that witness Jesus Christ to all men, for your assuredness has great recompense of reward. (Heb.10:35 & Php.4:13) Amen, for the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
