Sermon Part 8: “God’s House Is in Your Heart: It’s Time to Realize Spiritual Awakenings and Manifestations of Epic Proportions!”

The Apostle Paul wrote to the Saints at Corinth: Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. (I Cor.14:1-3)

Saints of God, including all born-again Federal Workers, for which this Series is dedicated, do you “desire” spiritual gifts?

Good Morning Saints and Happy Sunday!

This is the last Sermon in this Series entitled, “The Kingdom of God Is Within You: So What Are You Doing With It?” I pray that the Series has been a blessing and “challenged” you to become a life-time seeker and reaper of the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness. Saints, never forget the definition of the Kingdom of God that we have given to you:

The Kingdom of God is God's reign and rule, both in heaven and on earth and beneath the earth, and is characterized by His love, righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. (Rom.14:17) The Kingdom of God is not just a geographical place or realm, but a system of God's Power and Authority impacting all aspects of the cosmos and human life on earth. The Kingdom is also a Promise of future fulfillment, ultimately culminating in a new heaven and earth.

We have expressly dedicated this Series to all Federal Workers in Christ who have lost their jobs, or who are on the verge of losing their jobs. The loss of a job can feel like a devastating blow to your career and ability to provide adequately for your family and personal financial needs. But, I assure you, if you will use this misfortune as an opportunity to draw nearer to God and His Way of doing things, Heaven’s supply of riches will make its way into your wallets and pocketbooks to the full and overflow with material wealth and substance. (Prov.13:22)

Glory be to God, I even beg you to lay aside all worries about your natural needs (what you will eat and drink and how you will be clothed and sheltered), and whole-heartedly seek after God in Christ Jesus and the Kingdom of God, as He will reward your diligence in seeking after Him in ways no man can imagine! (Matt.6:33 & Heb.11:6)

Saints, we are God’s children and Property, and Jesus Christ has baptized us in the Holy Ghost and fire, evidenced with speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. Somebody shout saying, “I believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and thus, I speak with new tongues (unlearned languages) as the Spirit gives utterance and do many other signs and wonders.” (Mark 16:17)

Saints, do not let Satan fill your heads with doubt, unbelief, and fear about speaking in tongues. Don’t let the people of the world who know not God, and man-made religion talk you out of receiving and freely using your prayer language (speaking in tongues) as the Bible says we are to do. (Jude 20-21) In fact, you will never become the effective and effectual prayer God has called and made you to be without praying in tongues. Praying in our native language, while beneficial, is “weak,” uninformed, untimely, and requires the assistance of the Holy Ghost. The Apostle Paul wrote at Romans 8:26:

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

See the Version of the Amplified Bible:
In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words.

Every born-again Christian should feel a great sense of honor, exuberance, and joy to speak in tongues, as Paul wrote that the person who speaks in unknown tongues speaks directly to God, and not men. (I Cor.14:2) Tell me, what Christian on the planet doesn’t want to engage in direct communications with God Almighty? Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, we can have our conversations with God in the Spirit of prayer!

Speaking in tongues is the “language” of God and the Kingdom of God, given to us so that we can converse with God on the highest and most intimate and personal level; heart to heart to receive the Mind of God in Christ Jesus. Most born-again Christians do not realize that when speaking in tongues, the languages expressed release faith-filled Power and Authority capable of impacting every facet of human existence, as well as the earth and cosmos! And with tongues, we can commend and command blessings on the lives of others, both material and spiritual blessings. Of course, better and more fruitful to give the interpretation of the tongues spoken, or to prophesy so that the hearer can understand, be edified, and say Amen. Nevertheless, Paul says we bless well in the Spirit. (I Cor.14:14-17)

Umm, in the natural, we understand that “communication” among human beings is vitally important because it builds relationships, resolves conflicts, and fosters collaboration in both our personal, and professional lives. Communication is the foundation for expressing needs and emotions, coordinating tasks, and promoting understanding, leading to greater productivity, trust, and overall success. Yes, we understand even that the more we communicate with others, often times, we get more comfortable with the person and form bonds and become friends, and close friends such that we feel at ease to disclose and discuss personal information, and with some even deep and closely held secrets.

As believers in Christ, given that we are married to the Godhead and enjoy an intimate relationship with the Only True God and Jesus Christ (eternal life), God as given to us the miracle gift of speaking in tongues so that He might communicate with us “mysteries” (hidden secrets/hidden Wisdom) for our glory from the foundations of the world. (I Cor. 2:6-7)

God loves us and we love him, so it’s a given that He would desire that we talk with Him Spirit to spirit: In languages only the Spirit would understand with great comprehension and precision and communicate with our born-again spirit. Paul noted in I Corinthians 14:2, that the person who speaks in tongues speaks “mysteries,” as no man can understand (catch the meaning) the words uttered in tongues are unlearned languages, unless the words spoken are those of another country and understood by a person who speaks that language.

Also, most Christians do not realize that when we speak in tongues, it’s not just a one way conversation, but God through the Holy Ghost is also speaking with us in tongues. Paul wrote at I Corinthians 2:12-13:
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

We should take from Paul’s writing, bold confirmation that when we speak in tongues we are communicating “things that God has freely given to us” for our enlightenment, and that shall be manifested for our glory. Watch this Saints, the “fervent and continual practice” in praying in tongues leads to “transformation” of your whole being (spirit, soul, mind of the soul, and body) into that of the Spirit of the Life and Mind of Jesus Christ. So that your life might be patterned after Jesus Christ. Now let’s read Romans 8:26-30:
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

God’s highest calling and ambition for us, ordained before the world was founded, is that we be “conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.” (Vs. 28-29) The Word of God and praying in the Holy Ghost (speaking in tongues) are methods of communication God has chosen to use to transform us into the image of Jesus while in this earth realm. The more we pray in tongues, the more mentally and outwardly (physically) established we become in the justification and glorification God predestinated us to walk in; to say and do the same works and greater works of Christ as He is seated at the right hand throne of God the Father!

Only the Holy Ghost knows the Mind of God and can position us in the Spirit, and daily living, to conduct our lives in the character and performance of Jesus Christ. The more we pray in tongues we are able to see, know, and experience the deep things of God. The Apostle Paul wrote at I Corinthians 2:9-13:

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Paul states that the things freely given to us by God, are only known by the Holy Ghost who teaches us through utterances of the Spirit, according to God’s Wisdom, and not man’s wisdom. The things God has reserved for us are the same supernatural gifts that He gave to Jesus Christ. But it takes the Spirit of God to reveal them unto us.

Saints, it’s High-Time that every born-again Christian come into a “spiritual awakening” about their relationship with God in Christ Jesus. More specifically, now is the Time for God’s People to have full awareness and assurance that “God’s House” abides within our born-again hearts, and that the Holy Ghost has been given to us, to open the doors to the Mansions of God’s House to show us spiritual gifts that Christ Jesus has clothed us with, and by force take hold of them for supernatural manifestations in our ministries and personal lives.

In the Gospel according to John Chapter 14, the Apostle John recorded Jesus Christ communicating these comforting Words to the disciples:

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Down through the ages and throughout Christian Circles, we have preached and taught, that in this Passage of Scripture, Jesus Christ was reassuring the disciples who were troubled by His announced upcoming departure, not to be afraid and to believe in God and in Him. Jesus explained that He was going to Heaven to prepare a place for them in His Father’s House, and He would come again and receive them to Himself forever.

The core take away that we all have anchored our hope in, and rightly so, is that Jesus’ departure (His death, burial, Resurrection, and Ascension) was a necessary step to prepare the way for all believers throughout the ages to join Him in Heaven upon physical death and the Rapture of the Church. Thereby, offering to us comfort and hope in the face of anxiety and fear of physical death. Christ also Promised the disciples that He would not leave them “Comfortless;” that God would send to them the Holy Ghost (Another Comforter) who would teach them all things and show them things to come. (John 14:26-27 & 16:13-15)

While this Promise of Jesus preparing a place for us within the Mansions of God’s House holds a “future” assurance of “eternal connection” with God and Jesus Christ in Heaven, the Promise also holds a “spiritual current-day connection” with us! Most Christians have missed the spiritual current-day connection of the Promise because we did not carefully read and digest the entire Chapter. Sadly, mostly we have relegated John 14:1-3 to serving as a Passage of Scripture of Promise used for “Home-Going” Services, and not as a “Home-Coming” Scripture!

When Jesus said that He would come again and receive the disciples to Himself (John14:3), He initially was referring to after His Resurrection from dead and Ascension to Heaven, that God in Christ Jesus would quicken together the spirits of the disciples, along with every believer (predestinated to be the sons of God, even while dead in trespasses of sins), and raise us all up together with Christ to sit together in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Eph.2:1-6) Praise God, in Heavenly places, Jesus is seated at the right-hand throne of God, and in the Spirit, we are in Him and He in us!

This mighty work of God was accomplished upon Jesus’ Ascension to Heaven towards fulfillment of the Prayer Jesus taught the disciples to pray to God; saying: “…thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” (Matt. 6:10) And then, fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Ghost (which contains the Kingdom of God) was poured out on all flesh as prophesied by the Prophet Joel. (Joel 2:28-29 Acts 2:17-18)

Thanks be unto God our Father, that in the Spirit, we are with the Only True God and Jesus Christ in Heavenly places, and on earth the Triune God abides in us! The divine Purpose in seating us all together in Heavenly places in God in Christ is so that throughout all of the ages, in perpetuity, God might show the exceeding riches of His Loving Kindness towards us, and that we might walk in (practice) the works of Jesus Christ ordained before the foundation of the world. (Eph. 2:7 & 10)

Furthermore, in John Chapter 14:21 and 23, Jesus Promised the disciples that any person who loves Him and keeps His Commandments, that the Only True God and Jesus Christ would love them, Jesus would “manifest” Himself to them, and God and Jesus would make their “Home” with him. Examine below the specific communication Jesus told the disciples of the Promise of a “spiritual present-day connection” all believers and keepers of Christ’s Commandments would enjoy with God in Christ:
He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

In essence, Jesus Christ was Promising the disciples that all those who love God and Him and keep His Commandments, that the Father would bring “His House” into their hearts and abide therein forever. Having God’s House within the hearts of the disciples (as well all born-again Christians) would serve as supernatural comfort, as they would:

--Know through spiritual experience that God and Jesus loved them, and was in them even until the end of the world.
--See Jesus Christ “manifested” in their hearts.
--Do the works of Christ, and if they asked anything in His name He would do it so God would be glorified. (John 14:12, & 13-14)
--Be comforted and strengthened by the Holy Ghost as they suffered persecutions, hard trials, and even the specter of physical death. Even when loved one’s and fellow believers in Christ would die and go to Heaven, the Holy Ghost would shed God’s Love and Peace throughout their hearts and minds surpassing all human understanding. (John 14:16-18, 27)
--Receive teaching and guidance from the Holy Ghost; showing them, as the joint heirs of Christ, all things that Christ has received of God and given it unto them. (John 14:26, 16:13-15, & Rom. 8:17)

Finally Saints, listen to Christ’s summation of the “spiritual present-day connection” of God and Christ Jesus with the disciples, and all believers, recorded at John 14:28-29.

Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

As born-again Christians we are to “believe” and “rejoice” that God’s House, wherein there are many Mansions, abides in our hearts! Rejoice, I say rejoice forevermore, that God’s House abides in our sanctified hearts! Jesus has come again with God the Father and made their abode within us. Praise God, the Mansions within God’s House are vast and full of spiritual gifts that embody the fullness of the Character, Personality, and Performance of the Works of Jesus Christ.

As we devote our lives to the practice of loving God and all people, and seeking after Jesus Christ while praying in tongues, we effectively and efficiently access, experience, and manifest these precious gifts so that we might live-out Christ’s life in the earth to the glory of God the Father. As Paul pinned at I Corinthians 14:1, “Follow after charity (love), and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.” The word “desire” here means to “earnestly covet” or be “zealous” in pursuing taking hold of spiritual gifts. Frankly speaking, in my 25-plus years of Ministry, I have met very few born-again Christians who profess to “covet spiritual gifts,” and who are violently seeking after them. The Kingdom of God is grieved and suffers violence because so few Saints earnestly desire and seek after spiritual gifts. Since being born-again, week-after- week and year-after-year, most Christians sit in Sunday school, Bible Classes, and Sunday and week-day Services and never develop an insatiable desire for spiritual gifts and violently taking hold of them!

Let’s stop right here for moment. Saints, examine your own selves: Throughout your Christian journey, has it been your practice to first, walk in love towards God and all people, and afterwards “earnestly covet” spiritual gifts, and even more so to prophesy? Since being born-again, are there spiritual gifts that you have taken by force, if so what are they? Or, can you say at this time, there are spiritual gifts that you are in hot-pursuit of acquiring from God to use in Ministry and for personal spiritual growth for God’s glory, if so what are they?

Yes, you speak in tongues, and what a joy it is; but do you violently go higher and deeper into God’s Mansions to receive spiritual gifts made ready for you to reap! For there is so much more God has laid up instore for you in the Mansions of God!

Yea, the Apostle Paul, admonished the Saints at Corinth that pray in tongues; to pray that they may interpret so that the speaker and all hearers understanding may be fruitful. (I Cor. 14:13-14) This is needed in the Church-setting as established in Chapter 14, but also very important during personal prayer time in tongues; to ask God for the interpretation and thank God for the manifestation of all that we pray in unknown tongues, as well as when we receive interpretation. If we are not pursuing and operating in spiritual gifts, then we are not making progress toward spiritual maturity as God desires of us. God expects for us to bear the fruit of Christ’s Character and Performance through forcefully taking hold of spiritual gifts waiting within His House with Mansions.

Let me share with you listings of Gifts of the Holy Ghost identified in the Old Testament and New Testament (some overlap) stored within the Mansions of God’s House that are waiting for us to press-into and take hold of by force. In this moment, I hear the Lord saying “desire (earnestly covet) these gifts and lay hold on them according to the Divine Will and Purposes of God to profit every person and yourselves.” These gifts are not just for clergy, but for all believers in Jesus Christ to receive and use to the glory of God.

Also, understand that these supernatural gifts are not to be used as a charlatan (meaning, as a person falsely claiming to have a special gift and knowledge from God), nor used for vain glory (boasting in self-works), nor for filthy lucre (to use the gifts to get money dishonestly). Rather, these gifts are given by the Holy Ghost, and are to be used under the unction and direction of the Holy Ghost, as a witness to Jesus Christ, to render service unto God, and bring glory and honor to Him alone. When supernatural manifestations of the Spirit occur, we are to be ever mindful that God the Father did the work, and not we ourselves. For all manifestations of the Spirit are governed by the “Law of Faith” in the finished works of Jesus Christ. (Rom.3:27)

*Isaiah 11:2-3 provides a lists of gifts God laid upon Jesus Christ, and Christ has also laid them upon every believer in Him:
--The Spirit of Wisdom: The ability to provide deep insight and understanding in applying God's Truth to life's situations.
--The Spirit of Understanding: The ability to grasp the spiritual truths of the faith; having the ability to comprehend divine mysteries through a combination of faith, spiritual insight, and the help of the Holy Ghost.
--The Spirit of Counsel: Guidance on making the right choices in different situations.
--The Spirit of Might: Courage and strength to do what is right in spite of opposition.
--The Spirit of Knowledge: A special understanding of spiritual Truths.
--The Spirit of Piety: A devout reverence for God.
--The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord: A reverent awe of God to humbly submit to obey His Will in all things.
*The Apostle Paul framed for us “Nine Gifts” of the Holy Ghost, which God has made severally available to us. These gifts are given and manifested by the Spirit: (I Corinthians 12:7-10)
--Word of Wisdom: A divinely inspired Message of insight or guidance.
--Word of Knowledge: A divinely revealed piece of information that couldn’t be known otherwise through human intellect.
--Faith: An exceptional trust and confidence in God’s Power and Promises.
--Gifts of Healing: The Power to restore health.
--The Working of Miracles: The ability to perform supernatural acts that defy natural and scientific laws.
--Prophecy: Speaking a Message from God, which involves receiving and communicating divine guidance to others. (While it can include foretelling the future, its primary function is to build up, encourage, and comfort people by speaking Truth, providing spiritual encouragement, and denouncing injustice.)
--Discerning of Spirits: The ability to distinguish between spirits. (A supernatural ability, given by the Holy Ghost, to distinguish the source of spiritual influence, such as divine, demonic, or human.)
--Divers tongues: The supernatural ability to speak in languages. (It can manifest as a personal prayer language for self-edification, or as a prophetic Message that requires interpretation to be understood by others.)
--Interpretation of Tongues: The ability to interpret the Message spoken in tongues.

In Romans 12:5-8, Paul also outlined several other gifts of the Spirit that we receive according to the grace of God given to us: Specifically mentioned are Prophecy (Speaking forth divine Truth in proportion to one's faith), Ministry (Serving in our practical and administrative roles within the Church), Teaching (Communicating and instructing others in the faith.) Exhortation (Encouraging, urging, and stimulating others), Giving (Contributing generously to meet the needs of others), Leadership (Governing or directing with diligence and zeal), and Mercy (Showing cheerfulness and compassion to those who are suffering or distressed)

These gifts are presented as diverse abilities given by the Holy Ghost, which believers are to use for the benefit of the Church as a single body with many parts.

The Apostle Paul also framed for us “Nine Fruit” of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, as qualities that grow in a person who lives in accordance with the Holy Ghost, as they dwell in God’s House and through communications in tongues, following the guidance of the Spirit and in obedience to God’s Word and Love Commandments, show forth an abundance of fruit to the glory of God.
--Love: A deep and active unconditional compassion for others.
--Joy: A delight found in God that transcends difficult circumstances beyond human will and might.
--Peace: A tranquility that comes from God, even in times of trouble beyond human will and might.
--Patience: The ability to bear with others and endure hardship.
--Kindness: Being considerate and unconditionally compassionate toward others with material gifts and encouragements.
--Goodness: Character that aligns with God's moral and ethical standards in the midst of a perverse and evil world.
--Faithfulness: Loyalty and steadfastness to God’s Word; Commands and Promises.
--Gentleness: A mild and even-tempered disposition at all times.
--Self-control: The ability to control one's impulses and desires at all times beyond human will and might.

In closing, I say to every born-again Christian, including Federal Workers, now is the acceptable Time to earnestly “covet spiritual gifts.” God’s House, with its many Mansions, are expansive and contain many spiritual gifts of God that have already been apportioned to us by Jesus Christ for the work of the Ministry and for our personal welfare and spiritual growth. As long as we live on earth, we must with “violence” take the spiritual gifts by force; by yielding our will to God’s Will, and letting Him have His way and showering and clothing us in spiritual Power and Authority as He did with Jesus! (Acts10:38)

Paul said that the person who prays in tongues, edifies himself. Meaning the brother or sister in Christ “builds” themselves up in God. As we speak in tongues, God’s House, and Mansions within our hearts, become enlarged and magnified. As you soar higher and higher in speaking in tongues, with your mind stayed on Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost will open the Mansion doors of His House and show and make known to you things freely given to you by God; the spiritual gifts of Christ having Power and Authority over all human existence and the cosmos.

Do not at all be timid in asking God for spiritual gifts such as the gifts of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Prophecy, Faith, and Gifts of Miracles and Healings and so forth. For Jesus Christ said, if we ask anything in His name, He will do it! (John 14:13-14) Always remember Saints that no spiritual gift is of any use, except we have first committed ourselves to the “practice” of keeping God’s unconditional Love Commandments towards God and all people, including our enemies. (I Cor.13:1-3)

I recommend each day that you build/erect a life of praying in tongues; beginning with 30-minutes a day, and work up to one-hour. Thereafter, as the Spirit of God leads, spend hours and days praying in the Holy Ghost; expecting the Holy Ghost to reveal to you great and might things you know not that work to bless others and promote you exceedingly in Ministry, and every endeavor in your personal life.

I cannot quantify for you all of the rich blessings and Testimonies that will manifest through your life that result from your prayer language in tongues. For the Words/languages of the Kingdom of God produce supernatural harvests that are mysterious and dynamic beyond human knowledge, understanding, and might. (Mark 4:26-32) But, I can assure you that your life will be transformed, and each day you will become more and more like Jesus Christ, and many other people will see Jesus in you and benefit from your fruit! And, finally, when the blessing of God is operating in your life, the “Blessing” will make you rich and add no sorrow with it. (Prov.10:22) The Blessing will bless you and children more and more. Amen for the preaching of the Word of the Living God on the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness.
