Sermon Part 4: Federal Workers: Rusty Keys Make It Difficult To Unlock And Lock The Doors To The Kingdom of God!"

Oh, how frustrating it is when you need to gain entry into a locked house to get things of value, and the door-key and door-lock have rusted-out making entry very difficult or impossible to enter.

Sadly, the vast majority of born-again Christians have allowed their Keys to the Kingdom of God (Kingdom of Heaven) to rust and consequently, they struggle to lay hold on the supernatural good things God has prepared and reserved for them within the Kingdom of God.

Praise the Lord Saints and Happy Sunday!

Introduction

Today, let’s start with a pop-quiz! Can anyone tell me what the “Keys” of the Kingdom of God (Kingdom of Heaven) are? Truthfully speaking, are you even aware that there are “Keys” to the Kingdom? If we do not know what the keys are, how can we access the things that are stored-up in the Kingdom of God for us; supernatural good things that are only revealed to us by the Spirit of God? (I Cor.1:9-10)

I submit to you that the vast majority of Christians have rarely, if ever, knowingly and on purpose used the Keys and entered the Kingdom of God to receive God-good things for themselves, and even more importantly, for other people. Since being born-gain, many Christians have had the Keys to the Kingdom of God for years, decades, and for some folks most of their lives; but never have used them.

Consequently, the majority of Christians have allowed their Keys to rust. Our Keys rust from being preoccupied and conforming to the world’s way of thinking and doing things to acquire the necessities of life and material goods; rather than aligning our priorities for living in accordance with the Kingdom of God. Jesus Christ Promised that if we first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all of life’s necessities would be added unto us. (Matt. 6:33)

The Keys to the Kingdom of God Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ

The Church of Jesus Christ was established upon the Revelation given to Simon Peter by God that Jesus of Nazareth, is the Christ, Son of the Living God. And, it was from this Revelation that Jesus Christ established the Church, and He gave to the Church the Keys to the Kingdom of God. Much more on this in a moment.

Right here though, I want to make mention that due to Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden, Mankind had been separated from God and declared spiritually dead; destined for death, hell, and destruction. (Gen. 2:15-17 & 3:6-7) Thus, it was impossible for Mankind to inherit the Kingdom of God, nor have any part in it. But, God who is full of mercy and grace, so loved the world that He sent Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son into the world to save all people from their sins, and to give to us all eternal life. (John 3:16) This was even God’s Plan before He created the foundations of the world; that through Jesus’ sacrifice, all who believe in Him would receive eternal life. (Titus 1:2 & Rev. 13:8)

As such, God personally invites all people to become citizens of the Kingdom of God through belief in the finished works of Jesus Christ on the cross. (I Cor.1:2) To enter the Kingdom of God requires that every person be born-again of the water and of the Spirit. Each person’s heart must be regenerated by the Holy Ghost (which contains the Kingdom of God, Rom.14:17) in order to enter and see the Kingdom of God. (John 3:3, 5-8) No person, therefore, can enter nor see the Kingdom of God except they be born-again from above; for the Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom, (I Cor. 2:14) that one day will be established in physical form on earth, with Jesus Christ reigning as King.

The Kingdom of God is defined as God’s sovereign reign and rule in heaven, earth, and beneath earth. Characterized by His great Love, Righteousness, Peace, and Joy in the Holy Ghost. The Kingdom is God’s systematic Power and Authority impacting all aspects of the cosmos and human life on earth; God planned and placed in reserve the Kingdom of God for every person who would believe in Jesus Christ as Savior of the world.

Praise God! Every born-again Christian received the Keys to the Kingdom of God, when they confessed Jesus Christ as Savior of the World. Check out the Words of Jesus regarding the gifting of the Keys of the Kingdom of God (Kingdom of Heaven) to Peter and the disciples at Matthew 16:16-19.

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

As we see from this Passage, in Matthew 16:19, Jesus makes reference to the “keys of the kingdom of heaven.” Prior to this, Jesus had asked the disciples who people thought He was. (Matt. 16:13-15) After hearing several of the more popular opinions, (John the Baptist, Elijah, and Jeremiah) Jesus aimed His question directly at His disciples. Peter, responded for the twelve, confessing Jesus as the “Christ, the Son of the Living God.”

Immediately after this great confession, Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Let’s first understand that the Revelation that Jesus is the “Christ, the Son of the Living God,” was revealed to Simon Bar-Jonah by the Spirit of God (The Holy Ghost). When Simon confessed this all Powerful Truth aloud, Jesus declared that He was blessed (highly favored). The Revelation that “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God” in-turn enabled Jesus to change Simon’s name to Peter (Petra, meaning rock an immovable stone), Christ Himself being the foundation of the Church. Yes, upon this Revelation that Jesus is the “Christ the Son of the Living God,” Jesus’ Church was founded in the earth.

The “rock” (Revelation) which Jesus would build His Church has been identified as (1) Jesus Himself (His work of Salvation by dying for us on the cross); (2) Peter (the first great leader in the Church at Jerusalem); and (3) the confession of faith that Peter gave and that all subsequent true believers would give. Just as Peter had revealed the true identity of Christ, so Jesus revealed Peter’s identity and role. Thus, just as any born-again Christian who confesses with a humble and submissive heart and mouth that Jesus is the “Christ, the Son of the Living God,” their identity and role in the Church is revealed.

Later, at I Peter 2:4-6, the Apostle Peter reminded Christians that they are the Church built on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, with Jesus Christ as the cornerstone. Praise God, somebody ought to shout for joy, “I AM A PART OF CHRIST’S CHURCH, AND GOD HAS AN ASSIGNMENT/VOCATION/WORK FOR ME TO DO!”

All believers are joined together into Christ’s Church by faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; by the same faith like that of Peter expressed in Jesus. (Eph. 2:20-21). Saints, it is the expression of faith like Peters that is the foundation of Christ’s Kingdom. When the Holy Ghost reveals and gives you an unction (knowledge in your heart) to say Jesus is the “Christ, Son of the Living God,” obey the Spirit of the Lord and open your mouth and declare it to the world!

Saints, we are in a moment of spiritual enlightenment and understanding of the “Main-Key” that unlocks the Kingdom of God. And, that is believing, knowing, and confessing from your heart that Jesus is the “Christ, the Son of the Living God.” This is how God saved you from your sins, how God gave to you Salvation, how God granted you eternal life, and approved all of the Promises of God in Christ Jesus bestowed upon you! By this Revelation that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, every born-again believer has been empowered to enter and see the Kingdom of God and assert full Authority over the kingdom of darkness, which is Satan’s domain.

Dear Saints and beloved federal workers, I urge you, right now to boldly declare by faith that “Jesus is the Christ, Son of the Living God,” and watch within your born-again heart, the Kingdom of God will open its doors, and the Holy Ghost will open your spiritual eyes to see the Kingdom and give to you Christ’s spiritual knowledge and understanding about things pertaining to the Kingdom! (John 16:13-15, I Cor. 2:9-16, & II Tim.1:7) For example, as you behold the Kingdom of God:

*The Holy Ghost will make known that you are a son of the Living God and citizen of the Kingdom. (John 1:10-12, Php. 3:20 & I John 5:1)

*The Holy Ghost will reveal the Truth to you concerning the way for people of the world to come and enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. (Only through believing in Jesus Christ) The Good News of the Kingdom of God is too good to keep to yourself; you have to tell somebody else about it! (John 14:6 & Mark 16:15)

*The Holy Ghost will make known your calling to minister the Gospel to every creature. (Eph. 4:1) In your spirit, you jump for joy and eagerly desire for all people to receive Jesus Christ and their Keys to the Kingdom of God.
*The Holy Ghost will make known that you have been given the “Authority” and “Power” to do the same works of Jesus Christ; and that all devils and demons are subject unto you through the name of Jesus Christ. You are to rejoice and be glad of heart that your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life! (Luke 10:1-21, John 14:12, & I John 5:4)

*The Holy Ghost will enable you to see supernatural God-good things laid up in store for people in need, and your needs as well. (I Cor. 2:9-12)

* The Holy Ghost will make known to you that greater is Jesus Christ in you than Satan who is in the world. (I John 4:4) The Holy Ghost will make known to you that whatever tribulation may come your way, that you will overcome it because you own the Main Key to the Kingdom of God that overcomes the world. That is, your belief that Jesus is the Christ, Son of the Living God! (I John 5:4-5)

So let’s be very clear here. The Keys to the Kingdom of God given to the Church and every born-again Christian individually are (1) knowledge that Jesus is the Christ, Son of the Living God and (2) Authority and Power to bind and loose everything thing on earth that has been bound and loosed in Heaven, according to the dictates of God’s Holy Word.

In other words, as sons of God, we are to walk as “gods” over life’s troubles on earth by releasing the Word of God’s Promises contained in the Holy Bible to overcome all evil present in the world: Using the Authority and Power that is in the name of Jesus Christ to bind evil, and loose heavenly good upon all people and things in the earth. (Prov.10:21, Heb. 10:23, Rom.12:21, & I John 2:14)

I tell you the truth Saints, if the Body of Christ, the Church, would join together as “One Voice” and go out into the world and declare to all people that “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God” and decree that the Kingdom of God has come, we would add scores of millions of people to the Kingdom of Heaven, and fellow believers would be added to our Churches such as should be saved.

As we preach and teach that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God to the world, great manifestations of miracles would occur; healings from sickness and disease, deliverances from demonic oppression and possession that enslave the young and old would become common place among us, the dead would be raised to life, godly marriages and families would flourish across our nation and world, and wealth transference would flow from the hands of the wicked into the hands of God’s righteous people. God’s peace, love, joy, and righteousness would overcome and trample down on hatred and every evil work that seeks to beset our nation and world.

However, and sadly so, most born-again Christians are not actively using their faith in the knowledge that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God to go and preach the gospel to the world and demonstrate the power of the Kingdom of God. As such, figuratively speaking, most Christians’ faith has become “rusty,” because they are not using it to call people to Christ, and to demonstrate the Authority and Power of the Kingdom of God, which brings about manifold miracles and special miracles never seen nor heard of before.

Studies of Christians’ religious behaviors have long affirmed that (1) 95-percent of all Christians have never preached the gospel and won a soul to Christ, (2) 80-percent of all Christians do not consistently witness for Christ, and (3) Less than two-percent of born-again Christians are actively engaged in the ministry of evangelism.

Saints, please understand that the Kingdom of God opens its doors to the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and releases supernatural God-good things to those who hear and heed to its Message. (Mark 16:15-16) No Gospel preached and taught, means there can be no supernatural manifestations from the Kingdom of God. Without faith released that Jesus is the Christ Son of the Living God, no miracles can happen. This means the world only gets sicker and sicker from sin, and more people die and go to hell.

The Church of Jesus Christ, and every born-again Christian individually must awaken from their slumber! While Christianity remains the most recognized and practiced religion in America, and in many other parts of the world, it is steadily decreasing in popularity. Islam, the Muslim religion, and “none-religion” (those claiming to be atheists, agnostics, as well as those who identify themselves as “nothing in particular) are rapidly growing in numbers. So much so, that by the year 2070 Islam is projected to overtake Christianity as the world’s largest religion, according to the Pew Research Center.

However, these facts are not at all surprising to God, as the Apostle Paul warned his protégé Timothy that in the last days there would be people who “depart from the faith” through giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. (I Tim. 4:1) Furthermore, at I John 4:1-3, the Apostle John wrote to the Church warning that we are not to believe every spirit. But try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. John also told the Church how we are to know whether a prophet is true and possessing of the Spirit of God. In Verses 2-3, checkout what John specifically declared to the Church:

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Saints, we are not to accept and embrace, in any way shape or form, the Islamic religion. Islam is of the spirit of the antichrist, which is in the world today, and has and continues to deceive many people around the world. The Islamic religion does not believe in Jesus as the Christ.

While Muslims acknowledge Jesus as a “prophet” and “messenger “of God, they do not believe He is the Son of God, nor part of the Holy Trinity. They believe Jesus was a “human” messenger of God, not divine, and reject the Truth of the Crucifixion and Resurrection as written and depicted in the Holy Bible. In essence then, for the Muslim, to hear or read the Words of Jesus Christ recorded at John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me,” they reject as untrue. Likewise, Muslims reject the Words of Christ as recorded at John 10:30 saying, “I and the Father are one.” Oh, how foolish and confused is the religion of Islam, to on one hand acknowledge Jesus as a “Prophet” and “Messenger” from God, but on the other hand essentially call Him a liar by His claims to be the Son of God.

No person who rejects the divinity of Jesus Christ can have any part within the Kingdom of God (Kingdom of Heaven) and instead that person belongs to and are under the influence of Satan, the kingdom of darkness, and are accursed. (Gal.1:3-9)

If, as projected by 2070 the largest practiced religion turns out to be Islam, then the Church of Jesus Christ will just have to become more resilient and emphatic in its preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with demonstrations of the Authority and Power of the Kingdom of God; which will bring about repentance and salvation through His name to masses of people, including people who were professed Muslims and all other false religions. Because the Kingdom of God is at hand for all people to receive. (Acts 4:12 & Col. 1:13-14)

Truthfully, speaking at this time, the majority of born-again Christians do not know how to effectively preach and witness Christ to a sinner, and lead them to Christ. If and when given the opportunity, most Christians do not know where to start. Our Churches have largely done a poor job of training its congregations in evangelism and consequently most born-again Christians are rusty in sharing their faith with others. Many of our Churches have stepped up outreaches to provide food and clothing pantries, which is a good work, but little emphasis has been placed on preparing Church workers to win souls with the preaching of the gospel while carrying out these activities.

Furthermore, most born-again Christians have little or no awareness that preaching and sharing who Jesus is to the world unlocks the Kingdom of God and makes available to them Authority and Power to bind sickness and disease, poverty, cast out devils, raise the dead; and in its place, release divine healing and prosperity impacting generations. Saints, think about all the times when fellow Christians, as well as unbelievers, have come to you beset with problems and how you have responded. The tendency so often is to give “natural solutions” to the problems; or to only express sadness, dismay, sympathy, words of comfort or encouragement.

We must remember that we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ and citizens of the Kingdom of God; graced to have received from Jesus Christ the Keys to the Kingdom of God. For every problem confronted by Mankind, we have been given by the Holy Ghost the Revelation that Jesus is the Christ, Son of the Living God, and we are to use His name to unlock the Kingdom of God and give to every person supernatural God-good things from the Kingdom.

The Apostle Paul wrote at Colossians 3:17: And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Furthermore, Paul taught and wrote at Philippians 2:9-11, noting:

Wherefore God has “highly exalted him (Jesus) and given to him a name that is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

We must always remember that God in Christ Jesus has raised us all up together and made us sit together in Heavenly places in Christ. We have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Eph. 2:5 & 1:3) As such, we have been placed/positioned in exceedingly higher Authority and Power than the Prince of the Air Satan and the kingdom of darkness that have their domain in the lower heavens.

With the Word of God and fervent prayer we are to put on the Whole Armor of God and stand strong in the Lord and in the Power of His Might against the whiles of the devil. (Eph. 6:10-18) We are to know in every battle that we face with the enemy, that the spoken Word of God released in Jesus’ name, God dispatches His holy and powerful angles to take charge over us, to keep us in all of our ways, and to minister for us as the heirs of Salvation. (Ps. 91:11, 103:20, & Heb.1:13-14)

The Keys of the Kingdom of God Worked for the Apostle Peter and They Work For You Too!

As stated before, the Keys of the Kingdom of God,” sometimes called “the keys to the kingdom,” represent the Authority to open the way for people to “enter into the Kingdom of God.” (Matt. 16:19 & Acts 14:22) Now, Jesus has not given to us the Keys to Hell and death, only He possesses them, so please do not ever send people to Hell with inflammatory speech. (Rev.1:18) Let’s work with Jesus Christ to open the door for millions more people to join us in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Jesus Christ gave Peter “the keys of the Kingdom of the heaven.” This means that Peter received the Authority to unlock information about how faithful people, by believing in Jesus as the Christ, Son of the Living God and receiving the precious gift of the Holy Ghost (in which the Kingdom of God resides) could enjoy the privileges of entering the Kingdom of God.

The Scriptures bear witness that the Apostle Peter used this Main Key from God to open the way for three groups to enter the Kingdom; with miracles, signs, and wonders following. Remember, we are the Church of Jesus Christ, built upon the chief cornerstone Jesus and the Apostles and Prophets. As such, in the same way Peter used the Main Key to the Kingdom to open the door for many to come into the Kingdom, every born-again Christian is authorized to do the same. In brief, with Power and Authority, Peter preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Jew first and then the Greek, just as Jesus Commanded the disciples turned Apostles to do; in Jerusalem, Judaea, and Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world. (Acts 1:8) Peter using the Authority and Power that is in the name of Jesus performed many miracles, signs and wonders. Peter just depended on the faith in the finished works of Jesus Christ to preach and heal everywhere he went.

  1. Jews and Jewish converts. After the Resurrection of Christ Jesus, on the Day of Pentecost when Peter, a part of the 120-believers in the Upper Room received the Holy Ghost and were endowed with power, he preached to the large crowds of Jewish believers to accept Jesus Christ as the one chosen by God to rule in the Kingdom of God. Peter showed the people what they must do to be saved. He thus opened the way for them to enter the Kingdom, and thousands “accepted his word.”(Acts 1:8, 13, 2:1-8 & 14-43. Also, see Acts 3:1-26 for the healing of the lame man at the Gate called Beautiful and Peter’s preaching of the Gospel to the Jewish onlookers. )
  2. Samaritans. Peter was later sent to the Samaritans. He again used a Key of the Kingdom when he, along with the Apostle John, prayed for the Samaritans to receive the Holy Ghost. (Acts 8:14-17 & 9:32-42) This opened the way for the Samaritans to enter the Kingdom.
  3. Gentiles. Three and a half years after Jesus’ death and Resurrection from dead, God revealed to Peter that Gentiles (non-Jews) would also have the opportunity to enter the Kingdom. In response, Peter used one of the Keys by preaching to Gentiles, thus opening the door for them to become Christians, to receive the Holy Ghost, and be prospective members of the Kingdom. (Acts 10:30-48)

Now Saints, we know that keys are for both unlocking and locking doors. We have seen how the keys are used to open doors; let’s see how they are used to close them. Without expressed faith in Christ Jesus from the heart and mouth the door to Heaven is shut and barred. If a person refuses to believe the Gospel Message then they cannot enter and see the Kingdom of God. (John 3:16-18, 10:7-9 14:6, Heb.14:6)

As the Apostles preached the Gospel, those who responded in faith and repentance were granted access to the Kingdom of Heaven; yet those who continued to harden their hearts and reject the Gospel of God’s saving grace were shut out of the Kingdom. (For example, see the story of Simon the sorcerer at Acts 8:9-24.) Jesus Christ made clear that a person must hear and believe the Gospel, and repent of their sins and receive water baptism under His authority to be saved. The decision to not believe subjects the person to damnation. (Mark 16:15-16 & Luke 24:46-47)

Also, the Keys of the Kingdom of God refer to Spiritual Authority given regarding Church discipline. At Matthew 18:15-20 Jesus provided guidance for Church discipline of its members. Jesus is recorded as saying:

15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

The Apostles of the early Church were not to usurp Christ’s Authority over individual believers and their eternal destiny, but they were to exercise Authority to discipline “erring” believers and, if necessary, excommunicate disobedient Church members. Based on God’s Word, believers today can declare an unrepentant sinner to be unsaved (“bound”) and a repentant believer in Jesus Christ to be saved (“loosed”). The binding or loosing based on one’s rejection or acceptance of the Gospel, reflects Heaven’s perspective on the matter. In Heaven, Christ ratifies what is done in His name and in obedience to His Word on earth.

God’s Will is that sinners be granted access to Heaven through the righteousness of Christ. Consider Jesus’ warning to the Pharisees: “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in.” (Matt. 23:13) If the Gospel Message is distorted or ignored, or if unrepentant sin is not adequately disciplined, the doors to the Kingdom of God/Heaven are shut, locked, and impenetrable. (I Cor. 6:9)

Keep your Keys Well-Oiled by Stirring-up the Gift of Faith

One of the manifold graces God has bestowed upon every born-again Christian is the ability, through faith in the finished works of Jesus Christ, to rebound again to a lively-hope (expectation). (I Pet. 1:1-3) What I mean by this is, while many Christians may have in the past lacked knowledge or been neglectful in using the Keys to the Kingdom of God; within the born-again heart of every believer remains an assurance of an eternal inheritance that is incorruptible in Heaven; as God’s children we know that our citizenship is in the Kingdom of Heaven. Despite our many flaws, frailties, and weaknesses in living according to Kingdom Principals, God remains faithful to us.

Yes, even when we have proven unfaithful, time-after-time- after-time, Praise God, God and His Holy Word, remain faithful unto us. (II Tim. 2:13) We can repent of our sins and get on one-accord with God. (Is. 1:18-19) We can turn away from sin and wrong doing and take full advantage of all the Kingdom of God has instore for us and others through “Remembrance of the finished work of Jesus on the cross and His Resurrection from the dead on the third-day.” We can, if you will, shake off the rust by remembering and rehearsing the eternal testimony of Jesus Christ, and your personal testimony of what Jesus Christ has accomplished in your life. The Holy Ghost who is the testifier and glorifier of Christ will stir-up the gift of God, the gift of “faith” in you, and the rust will immediately wash-off your Keys to the Kingdom as good as new! You will walk in complete Power and Authority over all of the works of the devil, according to the dictates of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Paul wrote to Timothy at II Timothy 1:3-8,
3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;

4 Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;

5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Paul gave to Timothy a wisdom that every born-again Christian must have to be successful in Ministry and walk in the Christian life. Paul encouraged Timothy to always remember the “unfeigned faith” instilled in him by Christ Jesus that was also in his grandmother Lois and mother Eunice. This unfeigned faith Paul was referring to is a sincere and genuine belief in Jesus Christ, devoid of pretense or hypocrisy. It’s a belief that is not just an outward display but a deeply held conviction that shapes one’s thoughts and actions. In essence, it’s a faith that is real, authentic, and without any falseness because it is a “gift” from God in Christ Jesus.

Moreover, this unfeigned faith Paul referred to is the faith that every born-again Christian receives from Jesus Christ Himself, upon hearing and believing the Gospel, the Revelation that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God, who came into the world and died on the cross for the sins of all people, who was thereafter buried and through the power of the Holy Ghost, God Resurrected Him from the dead on the third-day. This same Jesus who walked again on earth preaching and teaching things pertaining to the Kingdom of God and showed Himself alive with many infallible proofs to above 500-chosen believers at once. (Acts 1:3 & I Cor.15:6) Jesus Christ who ascended on high and is seated at the right-hand of God the Father. This gift of unfeigned faith which resided in Timothy, and also resides in every true believer in Christ, shouts for joy at the eternal testimony of Jesus Christ given at Revelation 1:18, where Jesus exclaimed to the Apostle John: I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of hell and of death.

This Testimony of Christ Timothy was never to forget, never to be ashamed to witness to all people, wherever God would send him to preach. And, as Timothy would rehearse the eternal testimony of Christ Jesus, Paul’s testimony, as well as his own personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, his faith would be stirred-up! The Holy Ghost within in him would bear witness, and the Keys to the Kingdom of God would open the doors of the Kingdom to preach the Gospel with power and conviction, with corresponding miracles, signs, and wonders would follow afterwards. The unfeigned faith of Christ in Timothy would enable him to endure hard times, trials, tribulation, and persecutions that would be encountered throughout his ministry and life time, and cause him to bear much fruit for Christ to the glory of God.

So Saints, I encourage you and every member of the Body of Christ, including all born-again federal workers, to stir up the “unfeigned gift of faith” that is in you by Christ Jesus. Rehearse the eternal Testimony of Jesus and all He has done for you, watch how the Holy Ghost in turn will stir up the gift of God in you, and move and compel you to preach the gospel to the lost and do mighty miracles in the name of Jesus Christ; binding and loosing according to the dictates of the Kingdom of God by the Word of God.

The more you share Jesus Christ and His Testimony with others, the more Revelation of Christ will be imparted into you, and greater works from the Kingdom of God will be manifested in the earth. Amen for the preaching of the Word of the Living God.
