Sermon Series: “Let the Perfect Peace of Jesus Christ Rule Your Life!”
Sermon 2B: “God is For Us, So Turn All Your Cares into Effectual Prayers!”
September 15, 2024

Oh Saints, why do we take on “care” about the troubles of the world, when we know that God is for us? For there is nothing in life or death that can stand against God our Father. So let’s do our part in disposing of all of our cares the Bible Way; turning cares into effectual prayers so God may be glorified in the world!
Good Morning Beloved Saints of God
Introduction
Saints, we are assured of the love that God has for us. For while we were all yet sinners, Christ died for us, and rose from the dead on the third-day. (Rom.5:8) We know as believers in Jesus Christ that God has adopted us into son-ship, and He loves us just as much as Jesus, His only begotten Son. (John1:12 & Rom. 8:14-17)
Moreover, as the sons of God, we have willingly surrendered our hearts to allow the Spirit of the Life and Mind of Jesus Christ to be expressed through us in all manner of conversation. (Col. 3:3-4) So that the people of the world may see Christ’s Light shining brightly through us, and come to the Lord before His glorious return to rapture the Church.
Glory be to God, let’s rejoice saying, “Christ’s life in me, is shining through me, to bring many people to God!” If we know that Christ is our life, then we can ask and answer the following questions with all boldness: Who can lay any charge against us? Who is it that can judge and condemn us? Who is it that can wage war against the Spirit of the Life and Mind of Jesus Christ and survive? (Rom. 8:1-3, 33) The answer is there is none! Greater is God in us, than the wicked one Satan who is in the world. (I John 4:4)
So the life we live in the Spirit of Christ is protected and preserved by God the Father, and daily God watches over our lives to give us His “Welfare,” as we follow after Him. Praise God when people ask how we make our living, we don’t even think to mention our work occupation. No, no, no! We tell everyone that God is our life and the length of our days, and that we make our living by every Word of God. (Deut. 30:20 & Matt. 4:4)
Psalm 121:8 says:
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Listen to the Amplified Bible Version:
The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in [everything that you do] From this time forth and forever.
God has promised to be our protector in everything we do while in our homes and away, forever! Notice that the Amplified Bible uppercases the word “LORD.” The Scripture puts special emphasis on the sole person responsible for keeping and protecting us in all we do. Nobody can guard our lives but God. Not family, friends, law enforcement, armed forces, businesses, material possessions, doctors, lawyers, and not ourselves. God alone is sovereign over the cosmos and all therein, and He is the only one who has the authority and power to keep us from evil, falling, failing, and being destroyed. (Jude: 24-25)
Thus, when trouble arises, we cannot allow thoughts of “care” (fear, stress, worry, anxiety, frustration, sorrow, and grief) to occupy our thought-life, and cause us to walk in the ways of self-determination and self-preservation. Instead, we “choose,” in all things, to place our complete trust in God and His Word, which contains exceedingly great and precious promises.
One such promise we have of God is when we find ourselves in trouble, God will be there too! God will deliver and honor us, give us a long satisfied life, and show us His Salvation. (Ps.91:15-16) In this promise, as in all of the promises of God, we are to believe it, claim it to ownership, and confess it with our mouths as a settled and done deed! (II Cor.1:20) Settle it right now that every time you get into trouble, God will deliver you and honor you, as you abide in Him.
As the sons of God, knowing God is our protection from all trouble enables us to treat all of our “cares” in life, in a totally different manner than the people of the world. Rather than being consumed with the cares of life, and trying to manage them, we take bold and aggressive actions to rid ourselves of all cares the Bible Way.
All Care Must Be Casted Down, Gathered Together, and Thrown onto Jesus Christ
Every born-again Christian must learn and practice only viewing “care” (thoughts and preoccupation with stress, worry, frustration, anxiety) as “evil” and from the devil. As I pointed out last week, all care comes from bad news, the announcement of trouble, is from the author of confusion Satan.

Why would we want to listen to and believe anything Satan has to say? His wisdom is only wicked and comes, to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. (John 10:10)
All of our cares belong to the cross of Jesus Christ, and not to us! When we “choose” to care, we are operating in fear/doubt/unbelief in God and His Word, which is the opposite of faith. We must realize that fear and faith can never be mixed together. This is so crucial and fundamental to building and fostering a loving relationship with God. For without faith, we cannot please God. (Heb.11:6) Without faith, we demonstrate to God that we do not trust Him, and lack assurance that we know God loves us. Without faith, our prayers and confessions of the promises of God will not manifest. (Gal.5:6) Moreover, Jesus Christ instructed the disciples that being preoccupied with the cares of this world, can enter into the mind (brain/thought-life), and choke the Word and make it unfruitful for sowing and reaping harvests from the Kingdom of God, which abides in our hearts. (Mark 4:14-20).
So, we must understand that preoccupation with care is an “infirmity” (weakness) and enemy of God and the people of God. Care elected seeks only to exalt itself above the knowledge (omniscience) of God. Frankly speaking, how dare we choose to play patty-cake, pity-pat, and nurse-made to care? Let’s believe God and do what the Word says to do about all care.
Now, hear and receive God’s Word on what we are to do about all cares. First, see I Corinthians 10:5 and then I Peter 5:7:
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Also let me add the Amplified Bible of I Peter 5:7:
Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].
God has placed His Word above His own name. (Ps. 138:1-2) Thus, there is no thought contrary to God’s Word that we should allow to rise-up and be seated above God’s Word. To permit our thought-life to be preoccupied with care (stress, worry, fears, frustrations, anxiety) are evil imaginations that must be brought down out of our thought-life (brains) because they are stark opposite of God’s Word. The Amplified Version of I Peter 5:7 states that we can accomplish the removal of all the strongholds of care, one-time and for all times! Praise God getting rid of all of our cares forever is great news!
WE DON’T HAVE TO CARRY CARE EVER AGAIN!
So here is how we are going to dispose of all cares, and the “stench” they bring to God’s nostrils when we choose to hold and carry it:
*First, by the Holy Ghost, look in your heart and notice that there is no care in your born-again heart (spirit, mind of the soul, and soul). The reason there is no care in your heart is because God abides in you; and He has not given to you a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind! (II Tim.1:7)
As you search your heart, you will observe that there is only “peace” and “rest” because you have the Spirit of Life of and Mind of Jesus Christ abiding in you. So, as born-again Christians, all of the cares we carry and allow to become strongholds are not located in our sanctified hearts, but in our heads/brains. (Care is in your head, not your heart!) Thus, we must cast out all care from our brains with transformational thinking by the Word of God. (Rom.12:1-2)
*Second, search and find within your thought-life (brain) all cares, including any preoccupation with the acquisition of the things in life (how to have shelter, food, clothing, more money, etc.), sudden fears brought on by trouble, and the prospect of trouble on the horizon, melancholy or depressive thoughts over the loss of relationships, as well as inordinate mourning over the loss of loved ones.
*Third, by the faith of Jesus Christ, see yourself in the Spirit aggressively taking hold of each care, and gather and bundle them all together, and cast them down from the throne of your thought-life (brain). Do not treat your cares kindly as these thoughts and imaginations are adversarial and hostile toward God and you! They are nothing more than dumb idols motivated by “Ungodly Pride that seek to rule you, and turn negative emotions on, that work to turn you away from God. (For example, it’s a devilish thing to sit up nights caring about how you will pay your household bills.)
Since cares and the images they produce are your own thoughts, you alone have the power to remove them all. God is not going to cast the thoughts and images of care out of your brain, you must do it. God created mankind as free moral agents having the responsibility and ability to think and make choices for ourselves. We get to choose right or wrong, truth or a lie and speak it forth. We choose life or death, blessing or cursing. God recommends for us to choose life, but the decision is ours. (Deut. 30:19 & Prov.18:21)
*Fourth, with authority, speak to all of the care you have bundled together, and tell it that “you have chosen not to care about trouble!” “Yes, neither past, nor present, nor any trouble that is to come do you care about it!” Tell Satan, he is a liar and that “You don’t care about the trouble that is in the world, and that cares have no place in your life ever again!”
*Fifth, by the faith Jesus Christ, get a picture of taking the bundled strong-holds of care and casting/throwing all of them onto Jesus Christ. All care: anxieties, worries, and all your concerns, as identified in I Peter 5:7, heaped up together; throw them all on to the “cross of Jesus Christ.” Once and for all times cast all cares onto the cross of Christ, like throwing wood logs into a dumpster fire.

In Christian Circles today, we have not well understood how to actually “Cast all cares on the Lord” as the Scripture says. We do this by understanding that Jesus Christ bore all of our infirmities, sorrows, and griefs in His own body when He was crucified.
Please see Isaiah 53:4 and Matthew 8:16-17 as follows:
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Matthew 8:16-17.
When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
…that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, who said, “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”
Jesus Christ died for all of our sins on the cross, and this includes the infirmity of our cares in life. Indeed, all of our cares and sicknesses Jesus took them all and bore them on the cross. For Christians to think it appropriate to hold on to and nurse the cares of this world is a knowledge that exalts itself above God’s knowledge. Thus, cares must be casted down, brought into captivity and made to obey the knowledge of God, as the Apostle Paul noted at I Corinthians 10:5. (Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Specifically, the knowledge of God about all of our cares is this: That Jesus Christ bore all of our cares in His own body on the cross. Every grief, stress, pity, sorrow, frustration, worry; God the Father put it on Jesus Christ, so we would not have to carry care, be laden, and heavy burdened!
This is the obedience of Christ: We make “care” understand that we have been set free from care as Jesus took all cares to Himself on the cross. Therefore, care does not belong to us. Praise God, every care and evil imagination we receive from Satan has already been settled on the cross over 2000 years ago! With this understanding and application of how to dispose of all of our cares, we are now free to complete the transformation process of turning all of our cares into effectual prayers that bring into manifestation “God’s Welfare plan” for us.
Take It Easy, Because God Cares Much for You!
God wants us to take it easy. We are not to be lazy, but take it easy. Jesus Christ said take my yoke upon you and learn of me for my yoke is easy and my burden light. (Matt.11:38-39) In our last Session, I explained that the yoke and burned of Jesus was light because, in all things, Jesus placed all of His trust in God. Jesus knew God the Father loved Him and was His sole-supplier, provider, protector, and sustainer in life. As such, Jesus abided in God’s Peace. He is even known as the Prince of Peace. (Is.9:6)
In the same manner, as the sons of God, we are to live in ease and with a light burden, having full assurance that God loves us, and that we can place all of our trust in Him. Jesus has given to us His Peace, so we have the ability to take it easy and carry a light burden. (John 14:27) God did not hold back His only begotten son Jesus Christ from us, therefore, how shall He not also with Jesus freely give us all things? (Rom. 8:32) We need only to come to Jesus Christ, accept Him as Savior and Lord, and learn of His ways of living and doing things to receive the experience of the Lord’s Perfect Peace.
Now that we have dismissed and disposed of all of our cares, once and for all the Bible Way, let’s return to I Peter 5:7 and focus on the later part of the Scripture, as noted in the Amplified Bible:
Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].
Jesus “Cares” for us the Apostle Peter notes. We need to meditate on and confess this exceedingly great and precious promise we have from God. The Amplified Bible states that Jesus “Cares” for you with the “deepest affection” and “watches over you very carefully.” Somebody on this Zoom call, or reading this Sermon on-line, needs to shout for joy saying:
“Jesus Christ Cares Much For Me!”
“I can take it easy, because Jesus Christ Cares much for me, and watches over me very closely.”
Tell other Christians and everyone in the world saying, “Don’t ever take care, take it easy, because Jesus Christ Cares much for you and is watching over you very closely!”
As I said earlier in this Sermon, only God has the authority and power to care for us. Oh, what grace we have from God! In exchange for all of our “cares in life” caused by the trouble we face, God has placed all of our cares on Jesus Christ while on the cross. In its place, God has given to us “His Care” forevermore! God has exchanged all of our cares, for Jesus’ Care. Praise God, we have “Heavenly Care Forever!”
Jesus Christ’s Care for us causes us to never lack of any good thing because He is the Great Shepherd. (Ps.23:1) As the Great Shepherd, God in Christ Jesus has given to us everything we need to live the God-kind-of life; a life full of abundance. (John 10:10) In II Peter 1:3, we see the expression of God in Christ Jesus’s tender-hearted Care towards us extended through the “knowledge of His sacrifice” for our sins, including our cares on the cross.
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
Christ’s Care for us on the cross and His resurrection from the dead on the third-day conquered sin, death, and hell for us. Jesus finished work on the cross deprived all of the tribulation in the world of its power to hurt us. (Amplified Bible, John 16:33.) Most importantly, Jesus’ finished works on the cross paved the way for us to receive the exceedingly great and precious promise that God has given us. That is, “all things that pertain unto life and godliness.”
As we permit the Spirit of the Life and Mind of Jesus Christ to live through us, we receive into manifestation Jesus’ Care for us in ways that please our Father God. For every trouble we face, because Jesus Cares for us and watches over us carefully, God has a promise of a favorable outcome to deliver us out of the trouble and give to us a more than decisive victory! This, in part, is why Jesus Christ cautioned His followers never to yield to the temptation of caring for themselves, as the people of the world wrongly do. See Matt. 6:25-34.
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
From Jesus’s admonition, we can clearly see that God is the only one who knows and has instore everything we need to be supplied with in life: materially, morally, spiritually, and physically. So why should we be “full of care,” about anything, as sinners do? Instead, we embrace the writing of the Apostle Paul at Philippians 4:6-7 to transform our thinking to line up with God’s way of handling trouble and related-cares. Paul wrote:
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Praise God, we are not to be full of care about anything! Instead, we are to turn all of our cares into effectual prayers. Paul says in every troublesome time we face, in prayer, we are to let our petitions be made known unto God. Meaning, for every trouble we face, we take it to God in prayer and make known the “solution” we desire of Him, by the Word of His promise.
Every solution to a trouble is found in a promise from God’s Word. In prayer with God, we do not lament about the “trouble” we are facing. Instead, by the faith of Jesus Christ and promise from the Word of God, we tell God what we want Him to do about the trouble, and then give Him thanksgiving and radical praise, knowing that the work has already been accomplished by Jesus Christ!

For example, when the household bills are late and you have no money to pay them. In prayer with God, tell God that you want all of the bills payed, according to the promise of His Word at Philippians 4:19:
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus
Yes, lay the bills out before you and name them one by one. Tell God that you trust only in Him to pay the bills for you, because you know He has the deepest affection for you, and watches over you very closely. Acknowledge to God that He has given you “all things” that pertain unto “life,” and money pertains to living in this world, and through the knowledge of Jesus Christ’s finished works on the cross, money is crying out to you. It’s even on the way to you, and flowing into your hands. (Prov.13:22) Yes, money sufficient to pay all of your bills with plenty more to put in store.
In the midst of your money need, tell God that you are so grateful that He has supplied your every need by His riches in heaven. Tell God that you are a willing, cheerful, and a happy giver of your money to the Church of Jesus at all times regardless of financial status; and that your tithes and offerings always are your priority above the bills you owe. (II Cor. 9:6-7) Give not out of necessity, but out of your heart’s deepest affection for God. For we love God because He first loved us. (I John 4:19)
Your prayers have now been made effectual (powerful) because you prayed them without care; being careful for nothing! You prayed them in faith and confidence, with assurance that God is your source, supplier, provider, protector, and sustainer. You know God has heard you and that you have the petitions you desire of Him. (I John 5:14-15) I tell you the truth, God will deliver you speedily out of your troubles; and certainly keep you at rest (Peace, Jesus’s Peace), in the secret place of the Most-High, to bear the trouble, until full and complete manifestation of your money need takes place. See I Corinthians 10:13:
There hath no temptation taken hold of you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful; He will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I hear the Lord saying in this moment, “every time trouble comes your way to do this!” In prayer, “don’t focus on the trouble, talk to Me about my promises to deliver you out of the trouble, and I will surely bring you out with a Mighty Hand. With My Peace, I will uphold you and deliver you out of all of your troubles with honor! Praise me at all times for my great and loving kindness towards you!”
Lastly, as we mentioned before, we have casted all our cares on the Lord, one-time and it’s for all times. No matter what trouble may come, we will never take “care” again because Jesus Christ Cares much for us. The transformation process in our thought-life (brains) is complete when we no longer choose to care about trouble, and instead elect to keep our thought-life and affections set on God and His Word. I proffer Paul’s writing at Philippines 4:8-9. Paul wrote:
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
When we “choose” to think only on those things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, a good report, of a godly nature, and praiseworthy there is no room left for the preoccupation and expression of the cares of this world in our brains. We become God-minded; having a thought-life that is set, focused, and stayed on Him.
The aforementioned godly characteristics (true, honest, just, pure, lovely and a good report and so on) are the same characteristics that God has placed in our born-again hearts. As God has given unto you all things that pertain unto “godliness.” When our thought-life and speech matches and reflects the godliness inside of us, God promises that His “Peace” will not only keep our hearts and minds, but also “be with us.”
Praise God, we know God’s Peace is in us as we received it when we became born-again Christians. (John 14:27 & Rom. 14:17) But Paul says, when we think like God, God’s Peace will be “with us.” This indicates that God’s Peace will be all around us, when we are at home and away; everywhere we go! God’s Peace will be seen on us and shining brightly into the world.
God’s Peace is intended to make us “whole” (spirit, soul, mind of the soul, and physical body and surroundings) and keep us in complete serenity, even in the midst of tribulation. “Perfected Peace” is the ambition of God towards us. Meaning, a steady state of living in complete trust in God because we know that God has the deepest of affection for us and watches carefully over us. See Isaiah 26:3.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
The Great Peace of our God in Christ Jesus is to rule our lives. So as the Living Epistles of Christ, all people in the earth can read our lives, see what a difference it makes to be a born-again Christian in this world, and hear and receive the Message of the Messiah. For family, friends, neighbors, strangers, as well as fellow Christians to observe how you handle care in the face of adversity, and take authority over trouble and receive and experience God’s Welfare. Imagine if every born-again Christian walked in the Perfected Peace of Jesus Christ all over the world knowing that Jesus Cares much for them. All of us would serve as Living Epistles of Christ read of men; the people of the world would see and know: God abides in us, and wants to be in them, because God loves everybody. Amen for the preaching of the Word of God.

Satan asked the question knowing full well what God had Commanded of Adam. (Gen. 2:16-17) But in asking the question, Satan was tempting the first couple to see God in another light through challenging them to doubt God’s Word. In the question, Satan was announcing bad news; insinuating that perhaps God did not want Adam and Eve to eat anything in the Garden of Eden, and that He did not care if they were left without food.
The question also implied to the first couple that God was a mean and cruel task master that only wanted them to work in the Garden, and not enjoy the fruits of their labor. Satan wanted Adam and Eve to take on the thought that God’s Word could not be trusted, and they needed to think independently, make decisions for themselves, and take “care” of themselves. They would be like God if they ate from the fruit of the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil, and that they would not surely die; were other lies Satan told the couple. All in an effort to get them to “care” for their own needs, and to meet their own desires. (Gen. 3:4)
The worst action a human being can take in this world, is to try and “take care” of themselves. Jesus Christ said “apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) Ever since the first couple yielded to temptation, and partook of the forbidden tree, Satan has tempted mankind to doubt the truth of God’s Word, with the question, “Hath God said?” In other words: Did God really mean what He said? Will God really get mad and will there be negative consequences if I disobey Him?
Throughout the ages, Satan has coaxed mankind into thinking that the way to a satisfied and peaceful existence in life is best achieved through “sole” reliance on human will, intellect, knowledge, emotions, instincts, and self-preservation. Mankind thinks the crown jewel of living is “caring for one’s own self.” There is an old saying, and you know it well. It goes like this: “If you don’t care for yourself, nobody else will.” What a devilish thing to say!
This is a lie straight from hell, as God has said that He cares for us!
Read I Peter 5:7 please, and see for yourselves God’s love and concern for us. The Apostle Peter wrote: Casting all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you.
The problem so many people in the world fail to grasp is that we can never be successful at taking care of ourselves. There is no amount of care we can take for ourselves that will overcome trouble. Human know-how and ingenuity cannot ever resolve the “troubles” of the world. This is because Satan is the author of trouble. (I Cor. 14:33, James 3:16-17, & John 10:10) Satan is a spirit being/fallen angel that possesses only “wicked wisdom.” (Ezek. 28:17)
Furthermore, the Bible teaches us that Satan is the father of lies, prince of the power of the air, and ruler of this fallen world. (John 8:44, Eph. 2: 2 & John 12:31) Meaning, Satan rules over this world’s system and the people who do not know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. As such, the troubles that plague the world cannot be resolved through human strategies, interventions, and solutions.
For example, earthquakes, famines, hurricanes, viruses, war, poverty, hatred, racism, violence, and crime are all birthed out of the heart and mind of Satan, whose wicked works are manifested through people and the world. These evils will not cease as long as the earth remains, but will only intensify throughout the world as the hearts of people grow wax cold toward God.
The Apostle Paul wrote that before Christ, we were all the children of the devil, and were by “nature” the children of wrath. (Rom. 5:17 & Eph. 2:1-3) We were all born into sin and shaped in iniquity because of Adam’s transgression. (Ps. 51:5) Thus, the world, and every person in it, has been subjected to the nature of the devil, and to do the works of evil.
Until we receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, our hearts (nature) remain wicked and deprived and subject to the father of lies Satan. (II Cor. 5:17) Satan uses unsaved people and the systems of the world to stir up and exact trouble in the world. At its core, “Trouble” is a spiritual world-wind full of the wicked wisdom of Satan that only seeks to steal, and to kill, and to destroy the world and mankind. (John 10:10) Thus, the goal of trouble is to get mankind to “care” (fear, stress, worry, etc.) about trouble to dismantle and destroy our trust in God the Creator of all things.
To help cope with the cares of the world, and intended for our good mental health, the medical/scientific/technological community has developed many types of therapies: medicines, meditation and relaxation (many of which have their origins in ancient false-religions), electronic stimulants, exercises, diets, counseling, as well as self-help books.
While “taking better care” of ourselves in an effort to manage mental health issues sounds nice, and a good thing to do, the enemy has beguiled and bamboozled society into becoming resigned to thinking that “care” is a part of life that we all have to accept. Society has positioned the people of the world to think that when trouble arises, “care” (fear, worry, anxiety, and frustration) is normal, and best managed using some form or combination of therapy to cope with it.
But, God forbid, nowhere in the Holy Bible does it tell us to “manage stress, fears, anxiety, and frustration!” The Bible says that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. (II Tim.1:7)
Caring About Trouble Is Not The Bible Way!
For born-again Christians, caring about trouble zaps all of the spiritual faith in God in Jesus Christ out of the room. By faith right now decree: “I Just Don’t Care About Trouble!” For certain, caring about trouble is not of God and counter to His Word. Read below the invitation Jesus Christ has extended to all persons who are heavy laden and burdened, at Matthew 11:28-30.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
We are not to take care: worry, be distressed, anxious, frustrated about any troubling thing. In Christ, we are supposed to take it “easy,” and carry the light burden of Jesus Christ. If we have care, we are to come to Jesus to receive His rest. Jesus is waiting for everyone to bring their cares to Him in exchange for His rest. Please never again tell a person to, “take care.” No, no, no: Tell them to “take it easy.” We need to tell every man, woman, boy and girl suffering with a mental health illness to come to Jesus Christ and to take hold of His yoke, and take it easy!
You see, Jesus’s yoke is easy and burden is light, because He is meek and lowly in heart. (Meaning His life is fully submitted to God His Father only.) While ministering as the son of Man on earth, Jesus trusted God with His whole-heart in all things because He knew that God’s Word is Truth. (John 17:17) Jesus knew that God loved Him. (John 5:20) Jesus knew that God was His source, supplier, provider, deliverer, sustainer, and protector. (Matt.26:53) Jesus looked to God the Father to “care” for all of His needs, and as such, He never “took care of Himself!”
Thus, knowing the Father’s love for Him, Jesus walked on earth in Perfect Peace. Regardless of the situation, or severity of trouble Jesus faced, He was kept in God’s Perfect Peace. Jesus knew God had his “forward and rear guard” at all times because God is Faithful.
Jesus Christ is our example of how we are to live on earth. (Heb.12: 2) That is, “care-free” from trouble. God wants us to put all of our trust in Him as our “sole” source, supply, provider, sustainer, and protector. Praise God, neither people nor the things of the world can ever be your answer to trouble. Only God’s faithfulness! God is always faithful. Yes, even when we are not. (II Tim. 2:13)
God is Faithful So “Care” Has No Place in Our Lives
Polar opposite of what Satan and the world’s system would have born-again Christians believe: “care” has no place in our lives because God is Faithful. Somebody ought to shout right now, saying: I know God is Faithful!”

The Apostle Paul wrote:
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. (I Corinthians 1:9)
We take our testimony of God’s faithfulness from the Holy Bible, as well as our own personal testimonies, and decree that there is no place for “care” in our lives, as we are in fellowship with Jesus Christ. In fact, the aforementioned Scripture says, we have been called into the fellowship of Jesus Christ by God’s faithfulness. God has forever covenanted with us to be faithful towards us to perform the promises of His Word. Glory be to God! The following is one of the Covenant promises of protection we have in the New Testament, and serves as a witness that there is no place for care in our lives.
The Apostle Paul pinned at I Corinthians 10:13:
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
When we open the Holy Bible, in the Old Testament, we see the faithfulness of God on display. For example, God delivered Joseph out of the horrible pit his brothers had casted Him into. Though Joseph was initially sold into slavery eventually, he rose to power to become the Prince of Egypt. (Gen. 37: 26-28 & Gen. 47:19-20) Then there is the story of David and Goliath and the Philistines, how God used the ruddy sheep-keeper to slay the 9-foot tall giant with 5-smooth stones and a sling slot; David eventually was anointed king by the people of Israel. (I Samuel 16:13, 17:16-50, & II Sam. 5:1-5, 9-10)
Also, recall that God delivered Daniel out of the lion’s den and the hand of King Nebuchadnezzar, and then the king promoted Daniel as ruler over Babylon. (Dan.2:46-49) God delivered the three Hebrew boys out of the fiery furnace, and they too were appointed as leaders in the government of Babylon. (Dan. 3:8-25)
Now, also consider in the New Testament how Jesus Christ delivered Peter when his faith failed while walking to Jesus on the stormy sea, and began to sink. (Matt.14:30) Peter was walking on the water to Christ, but when he saw the boisterous winds on the sea he began to sink. Peter cried out Lord save me, and Jesus took him by the hand and lifted Him up. Jesus said to Peter “O thou of little faith, where did you doubt?”
Peter began to sink because he started taking “care” for his own life, rather than continuing to place all of his trust in Jesus Christ, who had accepted Peter’s request to come to Him on the sea. Nevertheless, because God is Faithful, even when we are not, together Jesus and Peter defied the laws of gravity, and so called surface-tension of water, and walked back to the ship together. A feat that no other human being has ever accomplished. (Matt.14:29-31)
Moreover, after returning to the ship, all the disciples bowed down and worshipped Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and the ship was immediately supernaturally translated to the shore. (John 6:16-21)
What do we see in all these examples? That God is Faithful to “deliver” and “honor” His people in time of trouble!
Finally, all of us here today have our own personal testimonies of the Faithfulness of God towards us in times of trouble. As you look back over your life, you can recall times when it seemed all hope was lost, but God stepped in right on time and delivered you out of your trouble. For God’s promise is sure. King David wrote, that “many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God shall deliver them from them all.” (Ps.34:19)
Everybody just look back and think about your day of adversity. Remember how the trouble brought you an abundance of “care” and sudden fear. But didn’t God see you through it? Didn’t God make away for you to escape? God delivered you out of all of your trouble because, like none other, God loves you and “cares” for you.
I am also reminded of the Scripture at Romans 8:28, where the Apostle Paul wrote:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
As the child of God, called according to His purpose, there is no trouble in our lives that has or will happen to us that God has not already worked out for our glory. Our New Covenant with God assures us that we will always have support in time of trouble. See below the Amplified Version of Heb. 13:5:
Let your character [your moral essence, your inner nature] be free from the love of money [shun greed—be financially ethical], being content with what you have; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!”
As the Scripture says, God has promised to never leave us without support, nor leave us helpless. Nor forsake us or let us down. God will never loosen His grip on us! Wow, praise God! We can put all of our trust in God’s Word and rest and take it easy!
Through our faith that Jesus, is the Christ, Son of the Living God, we overcome all trouble. (I John 5:4) Jesus said be of good cheer for I have overcome the world for you and deprived tribulation of the power to hurt you, and conquered it for you. (John 16:33 Amplified Bible) So when bad news strikes, or thoughts of care about how you will survive, we must no longer handle trouble as the people of the world do.
We must not become preoccupied with cares of life, and let them take us down into a deep-pit of depression, sorrow, and self-pity. Instead, when trouble comes our way, we must handle it the Bible Way, so that we reap in Victory. Remember this Saints: Without temptations, tests, trials, or tribulations; there can be no testimony! God wants you to always have a testimony of His faithfulness and kindness towards you. So much so, that the people of the world witness Christ; the Living Epistle of Christ in you, and receive the Message of Jesus Christ from your life!
The Message is: “Jesus Christ is in you, and He seeks to be in them, because God loves everybody in the world.” Amen for the preaching of the Word of God. Next week, we will learn how to take our cares, and turn them into effectual prayers.
