Part 2 of 2: “Being Led by the Spirit of God Will Lead You into the True Riches of Jesus Christ.”
To God be the Glory for the things He has done for the sons of God. God has sent forth the “Spirit of His Son Jesus Christ” into our hearts, and we cry “Abba Father,” meaning God is in His Holy Habitation. (Gal. 4:6) There are no words to describe how deep and profound it is to have the “Spirit of Jesus Christ,” and Almighty God abiding in your born-again spirits. Implanted in your born-again spirit are the “unmeasurable and unsearchable true riches of Jesus Christ.” They are all hidden within the kingdom of God, in you, and for you! (Luke 17:20-21 & Rom. 14:17)
The Apostle Paul was graced by Jesus Christ to receive revelation about the unsearchable riches of Christ, which he preached among the Gentiles. (Eph. 3:8-9) Unsearchable means something that cannot be fully comprehended or explored. In other words, there are no limits to the riches of Jesus Christ, they are infinite and past finding out! We can try all we will, but we can never reach the utter depths to quantify, assess the value, and exhaust the riches of Jesus Christ.
Paul wrote about some of the riches of Christ in Ephesians 1:7-14. Namely, in Jesus Christ—the Anointed One, and His Anointing—we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, the knowledge of the mystery of His will concerning us, the message of truth, the sealing of the Holy Ghost, and the guarantee of our inheritance. Note that these are all spiritual riches with eternal benefits, and we cannot yet fully comprehend them.
The unsearchable riches of Christ cannot be fully traced out. In Christ, the complete Deity lives in bodily form.” (Col. 2:9). In other words, the riches of Christ include all that God is! God is Love. (I John 4:7) The unsearchable riches of Christ, also includes the Glory of God, Life of God, Truth of God, Wisdom of God, Love of God. In Christ, God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly realm. (Eph.1:3) In Christ, are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Col. 2:3) In Christ, we have all things that pertain unto life and godliness—how to think, talk, and act like unto God Almighty! (II Peter 1:3)
The unsearchable riches of Christ provides salvation to everyone who believes on Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, Rom. 1:16). Romans 12:1-2 instructs that as our minds are renewed by the Word of God, (Jesus is the Word) and we are transformed by the Holy Ghost into the character and personality of Jesus Christ—becoming the loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled people of God. (Galatians 5:22-23)
In Christ, by the Spirit of God, we flow in the gifts of the Spirit—word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, divers and interpretive tongues, and much more as the Spirit of God wills (I Cor.12:7-11)
And, guess what? The Holy Ghost has been given the assignment by God to reveal and bring into physical manifestation everything that Jesus Christ possesses, including the unsearchable riches of our Lord. (John 16:13-15)
But all the aforementioned unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ become available, and are searched out by the Holy Ghost, as we demonstrate our “love for God and serve as living sacrifices unto God.” Willing and ready to forsake all things that the world has to offer, in order to pursue and obtain the excellence of Jesus Christ.
Jesus taught his disciples two short parables that emphasize the value of the riches of His kingdom. (Matt.13:44-46) Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
Like a hidden treasure or a pearl of great price, admission into the kingdom of heaven is of incalculable worth—and it is Jesus Christ who grants the admission. The good news is the unsearchable riches of Christ are inside of every born-again Christian, as God planted the Spirit of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God in our spirits! This is reason enough for us to immediately drop all that we are doing, and all we possess, and become obsessed with following after Jesus Christ and searching out His treasures.
Again, I say unto you, every follower of Jesus Christ must be willing to give up their own life—to gain Christ’s life and enjoy His riches. Paul encouraged all believers to follow him as He followed after Jesus Christ. (I Cor. 11:1) Paul was an “ALL IN” kind of follower of Jesus Christ. For example, examine Paul’s writing regarding his pursuit of Jesus Christ at Philippians 3:7-8. It reads,
But what things were gain to me, those I counted
loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things
but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ
Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of
all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win
Christ.
This is the quest for those of us who love God—“winning Christ.” We have counted everything in this world, and its fleshy-lusty carnal dictates, as garbage! In order that we may pursue with all of our passions the true riches of Jesus Christ. I often say it this way, “I am possessed with possessing Jesus Christ.” Nothing else matters in my life, only Jesus Christ and His Righteousness! “God is not first in my life, God is ALL!
This is what the search for the unmeasurable and unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ is all about—chasing after the excellence of the knowledge of Jesus Christ. To know God and Jesus Christ. The true riches of Christ is knowing and experiencing eternal life in God and Jesus Christ, forever. To have deep and intimate fellowship with the love of God, which surpasses all understanding.
God wants you to fall in love with LOVE (GOD) so you can have practical—everyday living experience, with and in, the love of God. So much so, that you are filled-full throughout your entire being with the richest measure of the presence of God on your life, and become a body “wholly” filled and flooded with God Himself! (Eph. 3:17-19)
Moreover, Jesus Christ prayed to God, His Father that every person who would believe in Him would receive eternal life; to have uninterrupted daily and intimate fellowship with God and Jesus Christ. (John 17:3) Christianity is not a religion—it’s a relationship with God! Jesus Christ invites every person who loves Him to come, learn, and study Him—and take upon themselves His richness. (Matt.11:29)
Most Christians, however, never experience living in the true riches of Jesus Christ because they refuse to willingly surrender their whole lives to Jesus Christ. Oh yes, we all call Jesus Christ “Savior and Lord,” but few of us obey His commandments as Lord. (Luke 6:46) As discussed last week, in these last days, the majority of Christians refuse to do the very simple and basic things that demonstrate love for God—church attendance and giving of tithes and offerings to God. How and where you spend your time and money speaks volumes about your love and commitment for a person or thing.
I am reminded of the story of the rich young ruler who came running and kneeling down to Jesus Christ, asking how he could inherit eternal life. (Mark10:17-30) And when Jesus, who loved him, told him to do one thing that the young ruler lacked, which was to go and sell all that he had and give it to the poor, the young ruler went away very sad because he had great material wealth. With the command to sell all, Jesus had offered the young ruler treasure in heaven, and afterwards the opportunity to take up his cross and follow Him. But, he simply could not let go of his possessions, because his possessions possessed him. The spirit of Mam-mon (the wicked device of the devil that stands in opposition of God’s commandments to give to God and others in need) was his master.
Thereafter, Jesus commented that it is very hard for the rich to enter into heaven because they trust in riches. His disciples asked saying Lord if a rich man cannot be saved then who can be saved? Also, Peter began to say that they had left all to follow after Him. Jesus immediately answered the disciples guaranteeing that anyone who had left family and their resources for the sake of the gospel would receive an hundred-fold more in this life time—family, houses, and lands with persecutions.
The simple but perhaps hard to swallow truth is, no Christian who refuses to give their tithes and offerings to God, can lay hold on the true riches of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, the Lord, was recorded at Luke 16:11 saying these words,
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the
unrighteous mam-mon (earthly wealth) who
will commit to your trust the true riches?
As you read the words of Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost immediately brings the question to mind: are you faithful unto God with your money? Also, let us not leave out the importance of being faithful as well with the things that belong to others. Meaning, are you faithfully paying your financial obligations to those who you are indebted? If you have not been faithful in financial matters with God, and to those whom you owe money, how can you be trusted with the true riches of heaven?
As I mentioned last week, there is a direct correlation between how we handle money with God (as well as our debtors) and whether we can be trusted with the true riches of heaven. Now examine Luke 16:10. Jesus said,
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful
also in much: and he that is unjust in the least
is also unjust in much.
Faithfully going to church weekly to worship God, and paying your tithes and offerings with thanksgiving unto God are among the “least,” and most basic things, we can do to honor God. Would you not agree? According to Jesus Christ, Christians that do these things are also faithful in many other things the Lord commands. Conversely, those who do not regularly attend church and give tithes and offerings to God are unjust in the least, and therefore are also unjust in many other things. The Bible says it’s the little foxes (small things) that keep us from harvesting the true and precious blessings of God! (Song of Solomon 2:15)
I posit, therefore, that your faithfulness with money toward God is the “gateway” to entering in, and receiving, the true riches of Jesus Christ! If you are faithful in bringing the tithe and offerings into God’s House by the Spirit of God—the gates of heaven are open to you to seek after and experience the true riches of Jesus Christ.
Wow, I get overjoyed and excited to know that Jesus says, if we will do that which is least of what He has commanded, we can also be trusted with that which is greatest in His kingdom—which are the unsearchable true riches of Jesus Christ! In other words, if I lovingly and willingly go to church regularly and give tithes and offerings—God is willing to trust me with the true riches—to pour into my whole being the fullness of God Himself. I can have the presence of God radiating in my mortal body in life and death.
However, for Christians who are slack in going to church and refuse to give tithes and offerings to God, the true riches of Jesus Christ remain on hold in their born-again spirits—until their obedience is fulfilled with that which is least. As they are spiritual children (dull in their spiritual senses) who have not yet matured sufficiently in Christ to take control of their spiritual inheritance. (Gal. 4:1-2) But, the day is coming when they will!
In Galatians 4:2, the Apostle Paul wrote that child-like heirs remain under guardianship until an “appointed time” for when God releases to them their spiritual inheritance. God knows how the spirit of Mam-mon goes about tempting Christians with doubts and fears about giving tithes and offerings to church. He knows how Christians struggle with money, fall in love with it, and have to learn the hard lessons of financial stewardship.
God will never forsake any of the sons of God, including His disobedient kids. He will never leave them without support of any kind! For the Lord said “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Heb. 13:5) Although, Christians may find themselves in great financial chaos, when they call upon God, He will step in and deliver His children and see to it they never beg bread. (Ps. 37:25)
But, God has appointed a time for all of His children when they will Stop, Look, and Listen to the voice of the Holy Ghost, and willingly do that which is least—lovingly and freely going to church and giving tithes and offerings to Him. And, then the true riches of Christ will be accessible unto them. Every son of God eventually learns that Jesus Christ alone is their Shepherd, and that they shall never want. (Psalm 23:1) The Holy Ghost will not stop until He trains every born-again believer thoroughly in godliness—starting with money lessons.
Now, let’s go higher in our learning about the true riches of Jesus Christ, and how to tap into them. By no means, do we have time to explore all aspects of the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ. It is not possible. But I want to get you started with learning how to be led by the Spirit of God into the most precious of all the treasures of Jesus Christ. The process is the same for the Holy Ghost working through you to reveal, explore, and lay hold on all the treasures of Christ.
Think for a moment on this question:
As you live each day, what single “thing” do you need to be successful in any endeavor that you undertake?
The answer is, you need the “Wisdom of God.” The most precious and highly coveted treasure that God releases into the lives of Christians who live sacrificially unto God, is the wisdom of God. As I mentioned earlier, in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Col. 2:3) For those who give their lives completely to Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost liberally supplies them with the wisdom of God.
The wisdom of God is having wise dominion over all of the affairs of your life. Wisdom is the ability to know what to do, or which way to go, when you do not have human knowledge and ability to do so. From the born-again spirit of the Christian, the wisdom of God is revealed by the Holy Ghost, and not from the human mind and intellect.
The Bible teaches us the importance, magnitude, and virtues of having the wisdom of God, as it is the single most important thing we need in life to be successful. (Prov. 4:7-9) God’s wisdom is not to be compared with even the most precious of earthly treasures, because His wisdom is before all things ever created! (Prov. 8:11-12, 14-35)
Do you remember King Solomon? (I Kings 3:1-13)
When he started his reign as King of Israel he loved God and obeyed His commandments. Solomon demonstrated his love for God. In a single offering, Solomon brought forth to God a thousand burnt sacrifices upon the altar. Afterwards, the Lord appeared to him in a dream and asked what He could give to him.
With a humble heart, Solomon asked God for wisdom to govern over God’s people—“an understanding heart to judge the people that he may discern between good and bad.” Solomon’s request pleased God, and God told him that because he had asked for wisdom, rather than “for him-self long life, riches, the life of his enemies”—but only for wisdom: God granted Solomon’s request and gave him a “wise and understanding heart, greater than any king before or after him.” Also, God granted Solomon with what he did not ask for, both riches and honor more than any other king in his life time and thereafter.
Can you see how the true riches of Jesus Christ—the wisdom of God—was granted to Solomon? Solomon was a generous giver to God and only sought to serve God on behalf of the people, and not himself. He sought after eternal treasure, rather than material things. This enabled God’s riches (supernatural wisdom) to be placed in and flow through Solomon, such that no man on earth could match his wisdom and understanding of matters of life. Moreover, every king on earth came to Solomon to listen to his wisdom. (I Kings 4:34)
As Christians, even more so than Solomon, we possess the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ, including the wisdom of God in our born-again spirits. The same power and wisdom that God used to plan, design, and create the world abides in every Christian. The Power of God and Wisdom of God is none other than “Jesus Christ!” Praise Almighty God that our lives are hid in Jesus Christ and God, and the riches of Christ are in us! (I Cor.1:24 & Col. 3:3).
James, the brother of Jesus Christ, is recorded as saying,
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God that,
giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith
not wavering.
For he that wavereth is like a wave in
the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let
not that man think that he shall receive any thing
of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in
all his ways. (James 1:5-8)
Whenever, we lack wisdom, we are to ask God for this most precious treasure of Christ, and He will liberally and without fault finding give it to us. God wants us to always be supplied with His wisdom for every decision we have to make in life. With His wisdom always comes the wealth of the earth. However, in order to receive the wisdom of God certain conditions must be met.
James wrote that if we ask God for wisdom, we must ask in “faith” and “not waver.” This is the key to tapping into the true riches of Christ—to ask God in “faith” and “without wavering” (doubting or hesitation). Anything that we ask God for must be petitioned in “faith.” (Heb. 11:6) The expression of our faith is in the finished works of Jesus Christ on the cross and resurrection from the dead, which purchased for us all of the promises of God. (II Cor. 1:20)
In the example of asking for the wisdom of God in faith, without hesitation or reservation take these steps:
- Believe in your heart and confess out loud with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and God has raised Him from the dead.
- Acknowledge that Jesus Christ is your Savior and Lord, your life is hidden in Christ, and that God has sent forth the Spirit of Christ into your heart. Therefore, the true riches of Jesus Christ, including the wisdom of God are abiding in your born-again spirit.
- Ask the Holy Ghost to reveal the wisdom of God that you need for the problem you are facing and others that concern you.
- The Holy Ghost will reveal to you the answer (solution) to your problem, either through spoken words, dreams, visions, or other confirmations through the Word of God.
- Thereafter, without wavering, stand on that which the Holy Ghost has said, meditate on the wisdom of God, search the Bible for Scriptures that affirm the wisdom you have received, and take corresponding actions that demonstrate your faithfulness until it comes to past.
Moreover, there is a much more excellent and expedient way to receive the wisdom of God for your daily living. That is, by praying in the Holy Ghost. The Bible teaches that when we pray in the Holy Ghost, (tongues) we are speaking the wisdom of God in a mystery, or hidden secrets, appointed unto us by God before the world began! (I Cor. 2:7 and 14:2) God-given answers for life’s challenges that have been prepared for all those who love God.
When faced with any problem, or even in advance of obstacles that may come your way, daily pray in the Holy Ghost. Again, by faith, and without wavering, believe that everything you have spoken in the Holy Ghost has released the wisdom of God—the answer or solution to the problem you or others are dealing with or may encounter.
Ask the Holy Ghost for the interpretation of the things you have released in the spirit so that your understanding will be fruitful. By faith in Jesus Christ and His finished works, believe that you have received the manifestation of the wisdom of God you have spoken, and it shall come to past.
If you love God and dedicate your life to Him, you can rest assured that anytime you ask God for His wisdom, He will immediately and abundantly supply it to you. (Psalm 91:15) And, if you are in trouble, God will deliver and place honors on you.
In closing this series, I earnestly encourage every son of God to cooperate with the Holy Ghost, and completely yield yourselves to Him to lead and guide you in all aspects of life. Become obsessed with only one Person, Jesus Christ, and the knowledge of Him. The Holy Ghost’s mission is to bring you into the un-measureable and unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ. For every person who will come and grow in the love of Christ, the Spirit of Jesus Christ is actively molding them into His image so they may be filled with all the fullness of God.
I believe with all of my heart that each of you will live in the mighty and magnificent presence of Jesus Christ; with the Anointing of Jesus Christ magnified in your character, personality, behavior, and performance in all that you do.
The enemy, Satan, desires to distract you with carnal thinking from obeying that which is the least of what God has commanded you to do. That is, attending church weekly and giving tithes and offerings. Satan knows if he can deceive Christians into disobeying God in little things, then there is no chance they will obey God in that which is greatest.
Child of God please know that Satan and the wicked spirit of Mam-mon are defeated foes and have absolutely no power over the born-again believer to do anything! Jesus Christ has the keys of death, hell, and the grave. (Rev. 1:18) You are a son of God and have dominion and authority over the earth—not Satan!
You are greater than Satan, the Anti-Christ, and all of the kingdom of darkness. (I John 4:4) Jesus Christ conquered Satan for us, and in every tribulation we face, we are more than a conqueror. Jesus Christ has prayed for us, and we are kept from evil! (John 17:15) As such, don’t give the devil any space in your life. Resist Satan with the Word of God and he will flee from you, like the coward he is! (Eph. 4:27 & James 4:7)
Somebody ought to stand up on their feet and give God praise! Decree and declare by faith, that by the finished works of Jesus Christ, the unmeasurable and unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ are working on the inside of me. The Holy Ghost is bringing the riches of Christ into full and complete manifestation in my life for the world to see. I am filled-full and running over full of God, and the presence of God in Christ Jesus is on my life forever! It’s not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit sayeth the Lord of Host! (Zech. 4:6)
