Healing School: The body is for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. (I Corinthians 6:13)

In this segment of the series, we are focusing on the working of miracles. Miracles are the calling card of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Miracles work in tandem with the preaching of the gospel to bring every person that believes in Jesus Christ to salvation. Miracles are vitally important for Reapers to work because they witness to the world that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) They also give personal witness that God dwells within the Reaper, and is working through them to accomplish the will of God in the earth.

Specifically, we are focusing on a type of miracle called, "healing the sick," within the context of God’s plan for the Reaper to win the lost to Christ. Healing the sick is one of many types of miracles that Reapers perform. So we are entering into Healing School to learn how to effectively and efficiently heal the sick while winning the lost to Christ.

In our introduction to Healing School, we learned three truths that every Reaper must remember as they move forward to heal the sick. They are:

(1) Jesus Christ has charged, authorized, and given us the power by the Holy Ghost to preach the gospel to the lost and work miracles, including healing the sick. (Mark 16: 15-16 and Acts 1:8) (2) The working of miracles is accomplished only through faith in Jesus Christ, and His finished works—and not by our personal past performance. (Galatians 3:5) (3) Our attitude toward sickness and disease is one of hatred because it is from Satan. Thus, all sickness and disease that attacks the body we treat as an unlawful intruder, which must be aggressively and forcefully removed from the human body. (Romans 5:12, 12:9, Proverbs 8:13)

So now, let us take our seats and proceed with Healing School. The theme for Healing School is taken from I Corinthians 6:13. “…The body is for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” One of the names of God is, “Jehovah Rapha,” the Lord who heals me. Jesus Christ was Jehovah Rapha manifested in flesh when He walked on earth. Therefore, we can say the verse this way, “Jesus Christ has healed my body, and uses my body to heal the sick.”

Take a look at Isaiah 57:18-19, and see and know the passion and ambition of Jehovah Rapha to heal the lost. In essence, God is saying, He has seen all of the unrighteousness that men do, and no matter the sins they have committed, He will heal them anyway! God will even send comfort to those who mourn, and turn their lips to praise and give them all an abundance of Peace.

No matter how far a person has strayed from God, or how close they are to God—Jehovah Rapha says I will give them peace—prosperity and health! Jehovah Rapha’s goal is not just to forgive the lost for their sins and heal them. Rather, His highest ambition is for all people to prosper and be in “health”, as their souls prosper in Him. (III John 2) Healing the sick is intended to serve as a highway to health and prosperity. When we lay hands on the sick we should expect the person to receive complete life restoration—not just healing from the specific illness or disease. Jesus Christ desires that all people live a long satisfied life, so He can use them to heal many others, and restore them to health.

Healing the sick is as easy to learn to do as finger painting is for a young child. When healing the sick, we need to learn and apply this acronym: “BBCP.” BBCP stands for: Believe in Jesus Christ, Bind the Devil, Cast-out the Devil, and Place the Devil under Your Feet.

*Believe in Jesus Christ:  Jesus Christ guarantees us that anyone who believes on Him performs the same works that He did and greater works. (John 14:12) When healing the sick, we must place all of our trust, reliance, and dependence on Jesus and His finished works on the cross. All miracles are at our disposal when we believe in Jesus. (Mark 9:23)

Bind the Devil:  The Church of Jesus Christ, and every Reaper in it, has been given orders to march against the gates of hell, using the name of Jesus to bind devils, demons, and Satan himself! (Matthew 16:13-19)

Cast out the Devil:  Devils and demons are carriers of sickness and disease. In fulfillment of prophesy, Jesus therefore with His words, casted out tormenting spirits and healed all that were sick. (Matthew 4: 23-25 and 8:16) Practical applications of this spiritual authority and power were also demonstrated by scores of His disciples. (Matthew 10:1 and Luke 10: 9 and 17-20)

Place the Devil under your Feet: The king and prophet David foretold that Jesus Christ would be exalted and seated at the right hand of God until His enemies (Satan and his demonic forces) are His footstool. (Psalm 110:1) God expects the “Church,” the Lord’s body, to exercise  spiritual authority and power to place the devil and his army under its feet, as Jesus is seated at the right-hand of God. (Hebrews 10:12-13) As God originally designed “Man” to live on earth, so shall it be again! For God has given “Man” dominion over all the works of His hands and placed all things under his feet. (Psalm 8:6)

So there you have it students: “BBCP”. Take your holy hands and lay them on the sick, and they shall recover. Believe on the name of Jesus Christ, by force bind the devil, cast him out of the person’s body—place him under your feet and send the devil back to the pit of hell and command him to return no more! Then usher in healing by commanding the person to be restored to health in Jesus name! Everything seen and unseen must yield to, and obey, the name of Jesus Christ unto salvation. (Philippians 2: 9-11 and Acts 4:12)

Next week, we will talk about, “Bearing the Glory of God in the Body So That Others May Live.”
